    Lens/diaphragm actuations count

Maybe a stupid question but is there a way to determine the count of lens/diaphragm actuations? I mean not the camera shutter count but the lens(es) itself.

    Focuspoint not showing correctly?

If I watch my photo's with a program that can show the focus point (like Nikon ViewNX 2) I notice that the focus point is always in the middle, unless I moved the focus point on the camera, when AF-area mode is dynamic or single. When I put my camera in AF-area mode auto then it does show the...

    Nikon 180mm f/2.8 AF-D

I recently bought a 28-300 3.5-5.6G but i'm not happy with that lens. I saw a 180mm 2.8 and I can change my lens for that one. I wonder i the 180mm 2.8 is worth trading for my 28-300? I noticed that I prefer fixed lenses over zooms.

    My photo corner

Don't know for sure if this is the thread to put pictures that don't belong in the critique thread but still wanting to be evaluated. So here's my first one, to share the "gezellig" atmosphere. Shot in october 2012, one of the first with my 2nd hand D700. Cheers. Glass of Chilean pisco...

    Nikon 28-300 3.5-5.6 VRII on a D700

I am looking for an all purpose lens for my D700. I would like to use it mostly for travel (buildings inside+outside, people/street, landscape), to avoid lens changing and not to carry too much lenses around. I was thinking about the Nikon 28-300 3.5-5.6 VRII. Is that a good idea on a D700 since...

The square format: Unfortunately I don't have an uncropped b/w version. Otherwise I could have left more space around the foot without having to clone.
