    Minimum Shutter Speed Setting ??

@mikew P is an automatic setting that does let the camera do it's thing almost like the Auto Mode. The reason I was trying to set the Minimum Shutter speed in P mode was a discussion on Moon shots in the thread in Off Topic. See Don's comments here: #2

    Minimum Shutter Speed Setting ??

OK, this came up in an Off Topic thread I started. In the ISO menu setting where you select ISO Auto On or Off, there is a minimum shutter speed setting also. If it is set to 1/500s for example, should the shutter speed ever drop below that setting in any modes other than Manual or of course...

    Ever have a day......................

Well Don Kuykendall, you just make me sick. Ha! I will have to try that with the moon. I have been shooting Manual and on a tripod. Did I say you make me sick. Ha! I did actually get lucky about a week ago and got these three shots of a crow. The sun was right to bring out some detail...

    Ever have a day......................

Today was a day that almost makes me think that photography is not for me. I shot about 40 shots and was so disappointed after downloading them on the computer, they all got trash canned. It just wasn't my day, well actually it wasn't my subject either. There are two things/subjects that just...

    Nikon 70-300VRII -- Sweet Spot

I know, this is a wide open question, but I am going to ask anyway. Ha! In another thread on diffraction, etc I watched the video and then ventured off into the CP-L video by the same guy and I began to wonder about the 70-300mm VRII 4.5-5.6. Of those of you who own or have used the lens...

Legality if selling certain subject matter (Photographs)

There are some places, ie certain tourist attractions (movie sets) that have posted signs that photos taken there cannot be sold or posted online without getting a permit. $ for an hour or something similar. I can understand that, but what about private houses or particulars of the house...

    RAWTherapee

Okay, J-see I tried some of what you are doing. First NX-D processed to TIF. Then loaded TIF into RT. Corrected lens distortion. Exported in jpg. Loaded in Gimp for copyright and exported as .jpg. This worked for what I was trying to do at the moment.. Lens distortion correction. Before...

Canon Might have the right idea

The annual Fiesta De Los Vaqueros rodeo is going on in Tucson AZ this past weekend and through to next weekend. A photography class was offered to teach how to take photos of rodeo events. As I understand it the cost was $85, but camera equipment was furnished or available to try out. All of...

    View Finder Dirt ??

This morning I was out with the dog and the camera. I started to set the CPL for the direction that I would most likely be shooting and noticed some black specks in the view finder. After getting back to the house, I did a little detective work and tried to clean. Lens looked ok, removed it...

Various Crops can make a difference---

Sorry I haven't responded to this thread, but I haven't had much internet access for a week or so. Just catching up now. Personally, I like the original shot because I wanted to focus on the source of the water filling up the road in the foreground. Then I started cropping and couldn't make...

This is another part of Agua Caliente Park. I thought it might work for the "Reflection" theme on the 53 in 365 until I found the photos I posted. Ha!

    CWGRIZZ Playing Around--Trying to learn

This is an old Mesquite Tree at Agua Caliente Park. It is the location of an old ranch and health resort. The tree is estimated to be 200-300 years old. I had figured it might work for the "Bark" theme.

    CWGRIZZ Playing Around--Trying to learn

Last Sunday I went out looking for some shots for my 52 in 365 challenge. The next bunch are rejects. Ha! Originally thought this one might work for the Chairs/Benches theme. Just a couple of Old Love Birds, I guess. Ha!

    Cwgrizz's Fifty-Two in 2015

Week #7 Theme Neglected Over the past who knows how long, I have taken numerous pictures of this old barn, but can't seem to get anything that I really like. Yesterday evening, I tried again. Still not real excited about the results, but I think it will work for this weeks theme...
