    Vacation time

Well I will be out and about shooting my D5100 at one of the most beautiful gardens in the south for the next few days. Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile, AL. Hope the sun stays out and the rain stays away. Going to be a little colder than I hoped but not it will be warm enough to be outside with...

    My Wife

I would have not cropped her fingers and knee off and there is way to much headroom. Either crop it more head and shoulders of back up.

    Learning the D5100

Somewhere here on the forum I did a exercise in ISO for the D3100. It let me see just how far I could go with ISO. You can read all day long but until you do it does not really sink in. Reminds me, I need to see how the D5100 does in that same ISO test. Here is the one for the D3100...

    Learning the D5100

I think my next project will be to start going through the D5100 feature list and working through the list one at the time. Then explain the feature and write it up step by step and shoot examples. When I was in business the way I really learned something was to teach it. Whether it was...

    2 TB NAS drive

Bought a new 2 TB Network drive to replace my old one that died. It has an interesting feature. There is a iPhone app that lets you see all your photos that are stored on the drive. So I can now look at all my photos no matter where I am. It still backs up all my files automatically and saves...

    A somewhat philosophical question..............

Actually, I think PS makes some of us better photographers. There are shots out there that if I had to shoot with film I would go on the the next shot and skip it. Sometimes there is no way to get the shot you see in your head. This is one example for me. All sorts of distractions in this...

I will have to check that out. I just Googled tags and vBulletin and got that info. I still like the look that it gives though. So just when creating a new thread and not posts. Found it.

    WhiteLight's Photo Thread

My son is at about 6500 feet in the shot and you can see the mountains in the background. They traveled in 4 wheelers or horses or walked. To rough for most vehicles.
