Nik Dfine 2.0 Noise Reduction Is Awesome

Well, I just bought the Nik Collection and have just played with it a little and so far I am impressed. Had some cave shots that I had shot at 12,800 with my D5100 and I could see a big difference in noise after Nik. I also just finished a fireworks shot from July 4th and played with the...

    Focus stacking in Lightroom 5

Focus stacking is where you shoot multiple shots of teh same subject but focus on a different section each time and them combine them using only the section that is in focus to make the final print. The after shot is a combined 5 shots.

    Your Best D5100 Photos

It is a fine line of in focus and out of focus. Personally I would have liked to see the second flower not in the shot and the leaves more out of focus. I think it would have enhanced the single bloom more. But the shot as it is works pretty good. Like I said before the shadow really makes the shot.

    Dastardly plan is going well

We went on two shoots in two days this weekend. When we got home I sat down at the computer to transfer my pictures and do a little post processing. The wife and I decided on Friday morning to leave town and go somewhere. We really did not care where as long as there was something to shoot when we got there. Normal vs. Fine quality

I edit my wife's photos from her L120 all the time and I always open them in ACR to do the editing. The best reason is the Shadow control you have. So much better than even PhotoShop. My sister recently shot something with her phone and the picture subject was a once in a lifetime and the...

    Manifesto

Camera – The best camera is the one you have with you. AUTO, Program, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority or Manual - Never shoot in Full Auto. It give you no control at all and you might as well just use your cell phone. Program is a good place to start with when you first get your camera and...

    Don's Old Daily Dabblings

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings OK, The last one of the day. I am seeing this more and more lately and although it may take great pictures it just looks so very odd. Taking pictures with an iPad I could not get my camera up fast enough to get him actually shooting.
