I'll even answer to "Tammy" if you insist. I'm married, after all. I'm used to being called much worse. Or I'll wear a hat and you can call me "ToS": Ok, not an official, military issue, Tam o' Shanter, but you get the idea I trust Oz

    Panorama tips?

I'd like to thank everyone here for their very helpful and generous advice. Thanks to the tips I received from all of you I was able to go out yesterday and shoot a series of pictures, then stitch them into a panorama for the first time. I couldn't have done it without you (well...not as fast...

    Panorama tips?

I've never taken a panorama picture before, so of course this week's competition theme is...panoramas! To compound things, while researching "How To Do Panoramas For Dummies" I discovered that my camera (D5500) does not have a panorama setting. Of course. So... Anyone have any general tips...

Post your favorite August 2019 shot

Daughter, post surgery. I like this better than any of the full-face portraits I took of her for some reason:

August 2019 theme: Caring, Caregiving or an act of compassion

I have to admit, I'd completely forgotten there was a monthly contest until I saw it listed in the "What's New?" tab. So.... My step son - Army combat veteran, robotics engineer - transitioned from male to female last year. Then about a week ago she had the final cosmetic surgery to complete...

    Post your Photographing the photographer.

A fan of my blog in Germany made me this hat, and sent it to me with a jar of her homemade elderberry liquor. I love 'em both:

    Post your birds (2)

Every evening several dozen black vultures roost in the trees surrounding our local diner, and every morning they warm themselves on the more open surfaces before taking off for the day. I wish I had a longer lens, because most of them roost - and take off from - terrific heights, too high for...

    Weekly Challenge Aug. 21 - 27: Kitchen

In my youth I trained to be a chef, and although I ultimately decided not to make a career of it I did spend about 15 years cooking professionally in mostly French restaurants to put myself through school, carry me through lean times, etc. Tonight my wife asked for Beef Stroganoff so I took a...

Haha! I took this pic a little while back at my Mother-In-Law's place, and captioned it "Married Birds": :)

    Weekly Challenge Aug. 14 - 20: Tradition

Much to my wife's chagrin, I traditionally get to about the halfway point of the yard before succumbing to the scent of our mint bushes and stopping for a julep.... (And by "stopping", I mean "stopping for the day".) :unconscious:

    What did I do wrong?

In a recent Weekly Challenge where the subject was "Books" I posted the following picture, a diptych I titled "Married Life": The first part of the diptych was composed using two softboxes, one to either side of me, and a reflector that acted as a halo light and also lit up the globe...

Weekly Challenge July 30 - August 6: Books

Haha! I guess that's why you didn't Like it, then. Sorry to disappoint you. I was worried about the whole "Community Standards" thing, y'know? I guess I shouldn't have been, huh? Ok then, just for you here is what you got when you unfolded that Party Jokes page: :)

Weekly Challenge July 30 - August 6: Books

"Married Life" Edit: Apparently the EXIF data does not copy when you create a diptych in Lightroom. You have my word that I shot these two pictures this morning (August 3, 2019) with my D5500, Aperture Priority at f/16 and f/8 respectively, ISO 100. I didn't note the shutter speed.

    Post your Rainbows

Rainbows We had a wicked series of storms blow through over the weekend. Between storms there would be brief moments of sunshine with very intense light that amped up blues and greens. These were taken right outside my front door, the rainbow forming over the woods across from my house. I...

Dumb Jokes Posted Here.... if you dare.

Lol. Wouldn't apply to me. My wife's a better rider than any 10 guys I know. If you can read the back of my shirt, it's because she's passed me and is already 10 miles up the road.... :glee:
