Hi Rory. I went from a D3300 to a D5500 and yes, in essence it is a D3xxx with an articulated screen (plus a few other upgrades like full touch screen menu controls, more focus points, etc.). I recently learned about "Lay Flat" Photography were, you guessed it, things are laid out flat and you photograph them shooting straight down. From what I read, the objects should be aligned along horizontal and vertical lines. This is probably all old news to you guys, but I only just heard...
