Our recently planted corn didn't turn out too good with all the rain. As a hobby farmer perfect planting conditions make you look good; otherwise things look a lot different. With all the rain we're getting it may be a while before we can get back in and replant the upper half of this field...

    Bird station no. 2

Had to modify the line used to hang the feeder; using two separate lines spread apart to keep the feeder from spinning. Trimmed some limbs to let some light in and then the clouds rolled in. It's cool to see different birds at this spot. Not sure what the brown bird is called.

Well, the leaves all around the feeder caused the lighting to be far less than desirable and caused a lot of poor shots because of the leaves. Learning to use the Big Gun (Tamron) is a lesson in light and as a result most of the leaves had to go! Also put a perch on the feeder itself. It took...

Yesterday i put together another bird feeder. This one is for the front yard. Nothing fancy, we're messy people so to us that's good enough. The back deck is good, but there are different birds that don't come around the back deck. Plus, the props on the deck have been shot a lot. The feed...

    D7200 review

The only opportunity to try out the AF so far was this heron that flew by yesterday. There is no possible way to have done this even by accident with my D7000. Two out of three shots were in focus and didn't deserve either of them. Second shot is a crop of the first.

The D7200 came in today and had time to try it out some. Started out with the 18-140 and found it to be a little loose on the mount but not too bad. That lens is tight as can be on my 7000, so i worried it might be looser on the Tamron. When i put it on there i did find it to be pretty loose...

A few from today. He fluffed up for the shot Really liked this nuthatch image. Been dabbling with shooting the Tamron hand held some and finding it very capable of getting sharp images. I realize now how using burst mode is a good idea hand held to up the chances of getting a stable...
