Congrats on your new camera! At 8000 you are going to have noise with any camera. The D 5 is well known as a very good low light camera. I can't imagine you would get less noise with the D500 in the same conditions with the same settings. Keep shooting and I'm betting you'll enjoy the D 5 a lot.

According to information I have read recently, Sandhill Cranes have an extensive language. Their calls may seem random, but each has a meaning. They even make a sound that has been likened to a cat's purr when they are content!

I always want a backup body, and think that for the money you'll get selling the D3500 you would be better off just keeping it. Of course, any Z lenses you acquire will not work on the D3500, so that is an additional consideration. So, in summary, I dunno'. :) :) :)

Sandhill Cranes mate for life, and their offspring stay with them for a year or longer in a little family unit. In this picture, we have two adults at the front and two juveniles following for a nice family action shot.

Just got back from a trip to Bosque del Apache in New Mexico. I have thousands of picture files to go through, but I have processed a couple.

I limit file size to less than 4,000 when exporting from Lightroom. I don't think the forum software will permit files larger than that, anyway.
