Nice catch Sandpatch. My record remains intact, I've yet to catch a heritage unit. I use the app, but mostly it shows the ones I've missed. I don't do social media...

I bet that hood liner does help. These DI engines are kind of clickety clackity. The first time I heard one I thought it sounded like it need the valve lash set. Using a fender cover shows you care. (y)

The photo was taken on June 26 2013. As for what year this 510 is, could be anything from a 1968 to 1973.

Thank you Sandpatch. That was taken with my first DSLR. A Fuji FinepixS1Pro that was Fuji guts jammed into a Nikon N60 film body. I thought of it as a Franken-camera. When Nikon came out with the D70 I sold the Fuji and moved on. All these years later and I'm back shooting with Fuji mirrorless...

Another great one from your Wayback machine Sandpatch. Love those high hood locomotives! That Southern GE unit leading sure has a bull dog look about it. Also you really have learned how to scan slides well, quite impressive. (y)

That's a great shot Sandpatch. Bet they were making some sweet noises pulling that coal drag. I really do like the perspective of a 50mm lens. My favorite was the 50mm F2 Nikkor that I bought with my Nikkormat. These days my favorite is my Fuji 35mm F1.4. On the apsc sensor it's 50mm.... :D

Sam, I'm hoping your sons are well and not affected by the derailment. Post a couple up here and maybe a link to the rest. I'm ok with whatever you choose to do.

Wow beautiful photo from the time machine. Kodachrome was such a wonderful film. It's a shame it's gone the way of the Dodo. Thanks Sandpatch this made me smile. :)

Nice catch Sandpatch. The sky does look kind of odd to me. ;) There seems to be some blue and possibly sunlight. Haven't seen that around here for a long time. Grey skies with little light is what we have around here.
