Sandhill Crane taking off on a cold morning. Note the ice ring around the leg. I have often seen these rings develop on cranes when they overnight in a pond in freezing weather. Since they sleep standing on one leg at a time, the ring is larger on one leg than the other.
At Bosque del Apache we were able to watch three coyotes frolicking for quite a while. This one was running around like our cats when they get the "zoomies".
@Sandpatch Thanks for the kind words on the San Antonio shot. Yes, New Mexico, and I should have noted that. :) We stayed overnight in Las Vegas, as well. (The one in NM, not "Sin City" in Nevada. :) )

A frustrating problem! I have 3 D500s, but since I haven’t had this problem I don’t have a guess as to the cause. If I were you, I think I’d just send it off to Nikon for repair.
