Marcel's 2015 daily, weekly, photo gathering

Shot tonight at dusk, Ste-Catherine de Hatley, QC. I shot for HDR but after looking at the original NEF files, decided to go with only one exposure. I think it turned out good. Do you ?

Marcel's 2015 daily, weekly, photo gathering

This photo is not one I made today, but one that I worked on today. It has to do with this month's Challenge subject. Taken with my D7000 and Tamron 17-50 2.8. Although the dog looks sad, it wasn't. It was a dog that was undergoing training to be a service dog and was just waiting his turn from...

    Colorful lady spider!

Bill, here is my personal opinion. I think you went a little bit too far with saturation in order to get the color of the spider. You could have done the same for the spider but not the background. I took your version and only played with saturation layers to remove the reddish tint of the...

    grandpaw's image thread

Here's my take on it. I really don't want to intrude Jeff, and I know that it's just my personal taste here so take everything I write with a grain of salt if you want to. Here's what I did: opened the photo in Photoshop, used a "saturation" adjustment layer, reduced the saturation a bit...

    Ironwood's Pen Progression

Here is my very quick and dirty trial to retouch your last photo. It's not perfect in any way, but shows you what can be done with a layer with a brush in PS. I also noticed and marked a few dust spots that show your sensor is in need of a bit of cleaning. Or just retouching in post. Hope you...

Marcel's 2015 daily, weekly, photo gathering

I was baby sitting today and went to the park to experiment with slow shutter speeds. 1/13 s is slow for a hand held shot, but I did get some interesting ones. The last two were not at a slow shutter speed. I must add that I was using the D7000. That didn't show up since I used LR for post.
