    August Monthy Challenge: Colorful Bokeh

Nikonites, Our theme for this month is colorful bokeh. This will require you to either use your long lenses, macro lenses or prime lenses with larger aperture or simply move closer to the subject. Be creative and the most important part is to have fun and show us your work. ;) The Rules...

    Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 vr2 vs 135mm f2 DC for portraits

I have the Nikon 70-200mm f2.8VRII and a Zeiss 135mm f2 manual focus lens. Although the latter is different from the Nikon 135mm f2 DC, the Zeiss lens is a very sharp lens, dare I say sharper than my Nikon lenses. Due to the focus breathing, the Nikon 70-200mm at 200mm has an equivalent of...

My first wedding photo shoot (kinda)

Thank you. They are average cameras. ;) Thanks and great questions. My cousin didn't actually know that I was a newbie photographer and that I was moving from Japan to California. Since we just arrived recently, the couples already hired Pro photographers and a videographer to shoot the...

My first wedding photo shoot (kinda)

I attended my cousin's wedding ceremony last Saturday. Although the couple hired two "Canon" photographers, I stayed out of their way during the actual wedding ceremony as a courtesy. I was one of the sponsors so I had to tuck my cameras away. I was able to shoot some prior to the wedding and...

Nikkor af 28mm f/2.8 lens question

Bill congrats on our lens acquisition. I don't have that particular model lens but I have the Nikon 28mm f1.8G which is a great lens and has a very pleasing bokeh if you are shooting close-up subjects. I also have the 28mm f3.5 Ai which is what I use for IR photography. Nikon 28mm f1.8G

    Pelican cases 1610 and 1510

So this is the final configuration that I went with to divide the camera equipment. Obviously, the 1610 offers much more room. You can even stack smaller lenses such as a 85mm and 50mm on top of each other by placing another partition in between. I am pretty happy with both of these luggages...

    Pelican cases 1610 and 1510

I just received my Pelican 1610 camera case with dividers. This is the case that I will be using to safely secure my equipment. The size difference is enormous compared to the smaller Pelican 1510 which is suitable as a carry-on item.
