March 2022 Monthly: Balance or Item(s) From Days Gone By

Balance From Days Gone By You gave us a choice of two different themes, so I chose both. Here is a Balance which is an Item From Days Gone By. Actually, two Items From Days Gone By. The lens being weighed (at 12 ounces) on this balance dates to 1972. I'm less certain of the dating on the...

January 2022 Monthly Assignment - Something New

So new that it doesn't even exist yet. Probably won't be built until several months from now. Ordered in October 2021; my dealer estimated, at the time, that I'd probably have it around June 2022.

    Weekly Challenge May 19- 25: Macro-ish

Put my ancient 85-205mm ƒ/3.8 Vivitar zoom on a 36mm macro extension tube, and took random shots at clover blossoms. This was with the lens zoomed in to 205mm, and the aperture fully open to ƒ/3.8, invoking the odd effects that this lens produces at wide aperture settings.

    Sep. 2020 Theme: Happy

♫ All You Need Is a Dove ♫ Entry #2 During much of the latest Year of Hell, my wife and I have been without the comfort and peace that a dove had added to our home for almost seventeen years. Our previous dove passed away last October, about five weeks after I broke my leg, and when we...

    Sep. 2020 Theme: Happy

♫ All You Need Is a Dove ♫ Entry #1 For me, the bad year of 2020 started a few months early, when I broke my leg in early September of 2019. About five weeks later, in October, my pet dove passed away. I had never before been inclined to have a bird as a pet, until one very cold night in...
