Mountain Flowers w/o glasses
I would use back button focus with single point. If you are not familiar it is just using the ae/af lock button to auto focus. Hold the button and it focuses. Release it and it stops focusing and you can recompose. Its like computer assisted manual focus. Also, try your onboard flash to get a... -

Tried Macro with the D500 and the 105mm Nikon Micro Lens
Also, an extension tube will not degrade the image, there is no glass in it. A teleconverter will degrade some. But with the extension tube, you will lose infinity, that is, you won't be able to focus at a distance. So you will be stuck doing macro when the tube is installed. How close do you... -

Help with macrophotography on D7100 with 55 f3.5 P.C
I don't know your lens, but here is a dragonfly with the Tamron 60mm. 1/200, F32, handheld with autofocus (af-c single point) and flash. I think it was the on board flash. Its a fairly heavy crop. The tamron is fairly short physically, so I get good luck with the on board light clearing the end...
