We'll never tire of going to Hardwick Hall, in around 15 minutes we can be there to see its every changing landscape as the seasons come and go (but it does have a good selection of cakes which helps)! We last went in early June & the Millers Ponds looked great.

Different scenery this time, bit of water! To the south of Derby runs the Trent and Mersey Canal which links the River Trent (Nottingham) to the Mersey near Runcorn I think. One of our favourite walks is to follow the canal path down to the Trent and walk along the riverbank to Sawley Marina...

I've not made any additions to this thread for a few months, but not we're sorted out, I plan to bring it back into life. Close by us is Brierley Forest Country Park which, again, is set on a series of old railway lines which ran from Sutton in Ashfield up to Huthwaite, possibly part of a...

This stone building is the engine house, forming part of Pleasley Colliery Winding Wheels in Nottinghamshire, one half of them in the background, the other pair behind me out of shot. Built in 1873!

    Post your waterfalls

This is a small stream coming off Whernside near Dent, which, when it rains heavy becomes quite torrential. It was nice and peaceful / tranquil when we visited. Dancing Flags.
