    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Day 107 - Part 2. Here are a few of the more "aggressive" edits. Just for giggles.

    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Day 107 - Cruisin' Well, really just parkin' at the local burger and ice-cream joint. My photo group from church was supposed to meet tonight, but the chance of rain kept all but two of us home. Most of the regular cars stayed home, too, but I grabbed a couple of cool shots before the...

    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Day 106 - Parking Lot Boredom Not a lot of time to shoot, but had to park for a bit while I waited for my son to get out of his Youth meeting, so shot a couple to see what would come out of it. 1 - Hazy signs of Spring... just a hazy sunset (more just a lessening of light, as there were...

    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Day 105 - Sleepy Handheld Shots It was late (early), I was tired, and the temps were FREEZING, so I just took a couple of handheld shots of the eclipse. The last one was as red as the blood moon got while staying somewhat in focus through shivers. :) I've seen MANY better, but it is what it...

    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Day 104 - Those dandy lions, phase 2 This time it's not the bloom, it's the seed head, catching a beam of light from a couple of different angles. Plus, I'll add that it was the ONLY survivor in the yard after last night's hectic winds and rain. Now to decide whether or not I'm going to...

    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Day 103 - Riverparks The local riverparks authority has free "bike rental" stations. You use your credit card to put a deposit on a bike, but you're only charged if you don't bring the bike back. Somehow, I let the wife talk me into riding a couple. They're NOT built for 6'4" fat guys, but...

    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Day 102 - Tulips from the inside Nothing fancy, just a look at the inside of a few different tulip blooms. Once again, amazing detail and variety that many will never see. How much beauty do we often overlook every day? How much wonder do we miss? The endless variety of creation...

Day 101 - Belly Crawlin' Yup, you guessed it, redneck in a sleeveless tee, belly crawlin' through the yard. Here's the fruit of my adventure... Amazing what beauty you can find when you put your face down low and look for it. :) ...and just for reference, here's my thumb in a pic to...

    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Sooooooooooo busy the last few days, so these have been quick snapshots on the run. Sorry. :( Day 98 - Those aren't clouds. Running from work and noticed these odd low clouds... and they weren't clouds. The smell in the air made it easy to figure out... large grass fires NorthWest of town...

    Good lens options for D3200.

Oops, added the wrong pic. :) HERE is the 18-55 close up that shows all the cool details: As for buying or not buying another zoom, it's really about what you're wanting to shoot. Wildlife and "farther away" shots, a zoom will probably be the answer. Portraits, landscapes, etc... primes...

    Good lens options for D3200.

I picked up a refurb on the Nikkor 70-300mm VR lens. FANTASTIC for the price! Whichever way you go, I recommend going the extra bit for 300mm over 200mm, though, or you'll end up looking back wishing you had. Nikkor makes a great 105mm macro, too, but that's quite a jump in price. Perhaps...

    Impersonal posts

It may be just me, but... There are often times when a new person will join the forums, and in their first post, list all of their equipment, a specific situation, and ask a question, and they're greeted with this: To me, it just seems impersonal, as it does nothing to answer their question...

    Lightroom Mobile

Lightroom Mobile for the iPad has been announced. Interesting..... Here is the info straight from Adobe as well. Looks like it's free as long as you have LR 5 on your desktop/laptop already.

    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Day 95 - The Coco-pet My son brought this home from Florida last summer, as his Grammaw and Grandpa told him a face would show up eventually... it was vaguely visible when we brought it home, now it's a bit easier to see. Day 96 - Dew, but not from the mountain Just a quick snap of the...

    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Day 94 - Sing it with me... "Here comes the sun..." doo-doo-doo-dooooo! Just a common sign of spring, the dreaded dandelion, hopefully viewed in a not so common way. They're quite amazing when viewed in the right light (which means, look at it as a flower, not an annoying ugly weed that will...

    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Day 93 - What is this bright yellow orb in the sky, and why is it melting everything??? Yes, this is what the world looks like when you come out to a NON-dreary Spring day after working inside for too long... (it's also what it looks like when you've bumped your camera out of aperture into...

Day 91 - You took it with a WHAT!? Yes... don't shoot... it was taken with an iPhone 5. Best camera to shoot with is the one you have with you, and wanted to see how it would handle the shot, and what I could do with it. So here ya go... ISO 50, INSANE shutter speed! LOL For the...

    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Day 90 BONUS - Shots of opportunity We had a very fast squall line roll through. I spotted a shot, ran in and switched to the 70-300, and took a few handheld shots as it rolled by, all the while trying to stay dry. This is what originally caught my eye. Zoomed in a bit, and messing with...

    Pretzel's Snack-A-Day (365 for 2014)

Day 90 - Back Yard Sunset So took the dogs, and just glancing around saw the sunlight shining through the poor old privacy fence on the backside of our property, thought I'd snap a pic or two and see what I could do with it. Irritates me, because the ground and fence lines don't match up...
