Surprise: the sensor inside the Nikon D5200 is made by Toshiba | Nikon Rumors This would mean that people who speculated that the 5200's sensor was going to be the same as the 3200, were wrong. The sensor in the 3200 is actually a Nikon. Anyone know of other cameras with Toshiba sensor?

For the last couple of months, i have been shooting in M mode. Before that, i was in A mode and before that, i was in the dreaded Auto mode :( When i first bought a DSLR back at the start of 2011, i did not even know what M mode was and even when i found out, i was not keen on trying it out...

Just finished up with my daughters Christmas play and it was the first time that i have used my D5100 in high ISO situations. It was in the schools gymnasium and the only lights were on the stage. Had my 55-200 on and had it as wide open as i could - F4-F5.6 at the long end. I used ISO 4000...
