    Theres certainly nothing wrong with the Nikon 105 VR, its a fantastic lens for macro as well as portraits. I dont use mine all that much, as I generally prefer to use my older Nikon AF55 D f2.8. Click on this old thread I did when I was experimenting with the 105 and a CPL filter...

    Post your Better Beamer shots

    Wompoo Pigeon. The Better Beamer, is helping me to get shots that wouldnt be possible for me without some extra light, this bird was sitting in a very shaded spot. Maybe a D5 and 500f4 might get the shot, but the D7100 and Tamron 150-600 need much more light.
