Just got this lens today (used from a local camera shop ) and I'm just wondering what's the best / advisable settings to use with it? for eg multi servo or single servo , single point focus or auto, multi etc? Should i I usually have the vr on or off and just on when appropriate?, as it is...

right think i may have sorted it, theres an update for photomatix 5.1.1 Download HDR Photography software Photomatix Pro and that seems to be doing an ok job

seems it is a definate photomatix problem with either win10 or the d5300 as this is the result in lr-merge in ps so can anyone else test photomatrix for me with d5300 and win10? i did also notice that in what i consider good ambient light (small romm white walls with main lights on 3x40w...

right so i dropped the iso down, and brckt to 1 stop, from these images taken with flash on manual i get this in photomatix i beggining to wonder if photomatix is struggling with the d5300 maybe its not suported as dxo8 does not support the d5300 either?

Hi, can someone help0 me out, using photomatix to blend a hdr i repeatidly get quite grimm results: origional 3 pics shot with a d5300 kit 18-55 lens using auto bracket option result photo lightroom is a bit better using itself or merge in photoshop but gives similar noisy off colour...

So christmas is around the corner and ill be getting a lens for it most likely in the sales (im a big boy now i can live without opening something on the day), im still only in the stage of needing a good all-rounder really. Ive got a d5300 with kit lens and im thinking on either 18-140 nikon...

@boofhead that's pretty much all I do haha I'm either usually working or its raining here lol..

I tried to use dx0 Optics pro 8.5 today with a raw image from my d5300 it's the first time I've opened it in a while and with this camera it worked fine with my old d3200 but it is now saying the software is not compatible with my d5300, I presume the raw files are stored in the same way etc? so...
