Actor james gandolfini, of "soprano" fame is dead at age 51

The Sopranos was one of my all-time favorite TV series. Growing up in Philly and living amongst mobsters has always made me a big fan of mob movies. Gandolfini will be missed. I enjoyed all of his work.

    New V2 shots

I recently purchased the V2, and decided to photograph the Cathedral of the Plains, in Victoria, KS. This tall building stands out on the flat plains of Kansas. It's a tourist attraction, and can be found just off of I-70.

    Anyone Using a Gordy Strap?

I'm searching for a strap for my new J1. Nikon offers a shoulder strap for free, with the camera, but they offer a overpriced wrist strap as a paid option. The shoulder strap is a big overkill, and they're charging $15 for the wrist strap. What bothers me is that Nikon is offering what we don't...

UV and NC Filters For Protective Purposes

My question has to do with UV filters being used on lenses for protective purposes. We all know how important it was to buy a good-quality filter. I just ordered a Nikon Neutral Color and a B+W Clear UV Haze Single Coating. Nikon swears by their NC filter and I've heard great things about B+W...

D600 -- Which Glass Will You Use With It?

This thread is for all of you who are extremely or even remotely interested in the D600. Even if you have no desire to make that purchase, I'd still appreciate your feedback. New and Updated D600 Rumors

I have an update to the previously reported Nikon D600 specifications (new/updated specs are on top, marked in bold). I also have two corrections to make - the D600 will have a built-in AF motor and it will not have built-in GPS. There are also rumors that Nikon has invited some European...

    What's wrong with Kong

I need some feedback on how I could've made this a better photo. It was shot at 1/100th of a sec, f/5.6, ISO 1600 at 85mm, with a Nikon 16-85mm lens, on a D7000. It was shot through glass with no flash. I did some post production in Lightroom. Thanks in advance.;)

    New Macro Lens - 40mm 2.8G

I just got this lens yesterday and haven't been able to go outside and shoot, due to a week of heavy rain. This is my first shot taken, without any post production. I shot it in low light and at 100 ISO, 1/15th of a sec and f/3.2, handheld. I've got a lot to learn but figured I'd post it, anyway.

    Nikon gp-1 gps unit

I've read some reviews that endorse the Nikon GP-1 GPS unit. I've also read some that claim it's a flawed product. I'm just learning and really getting into Lightroom 4. Lightroom's geotagging feature catches my attention. I think it would be a great asset in my organization of photos. I could...
