    Older D lenses

I was wondering how an older D lens works on something like a D7200. I shoot aperture mode mostly. The D lenses have the aperture adjustment on the lens. Does the camera still work in setting the aperture the same as a newer lens? I hope you all understand what I mean. It is hard to explain. Thanks

    D500 vs D5

Just a stupid question, but... With the high praise I have seen for the D500, Is the D5 really worth the high price tag? I mean the D500 has so many of the features found on the D5, is the D5 that much better? In Canada the D5 is $8500.00, and the D500 is $2699.00 That's over 3 times the price...

    Battery Usage

I can not get over the life of the battery in my D7200. Right now it says 34% and the number of shots so far is 2343 on that battery. Is everyone doing that well? I hope you are. What about some of the other cameras? How does that compare with D500, D750, D800E, etc.?

    Epson P400

I apologize if this is in the wrong thread. I am looking at an Epson P400 printer. I have a WorkForce 633 now that does a decent job. I am also looking at an Artisan 1430. Would like some feed back from you all. Anyone used either of these 2 printers? Thanks

    D7200 upgrade to D500

Are there any users that have upgraded from a D7200 to a D500? A d7200 here in Canada is going for about $1250 vs a D500 for $2500. Is a D500 really twice as good? I know it is a better camera but it that much better? Was thinking of a second body but now thinking of upgrading. If I could get...

    D800E with a little over 51,000 clicks

I am thinking about a D800E with a little over 51,000 clicks but they are asking $2300 Canadian... Seems high to me. Haven't seen it yet, but suppose to be a 8+ camera. I would think $1500-$1600 for a camera with that may clicks. Am I way too low ? or are they fairly high?

    Teleconverter with Sigma 150-600 C

Has anyone tried to use the older SIGMA 2X EX DG APO teleconverter with the 150-600 mm C lens? They say you need the new style. Just wondering what would happen. Thanks

    D7200 Update

I have noticed that there have been no firmware updates for the D7200. This is not a bad thing but just wondering, is the camera that perfect? I mean most other models have had at least one update. Or did Nikon say "we are not admitting to mistakes with the D7200"? I find mine works good. Has...

    Tripod help

I have pretty much decided on a Manfrotto 055xpro3 tripod and I am thinking of a Jobu gimbal head. For the mounting plate I was hoping to get an idea from you all on a mounting plate. I was wondering if the nx-2 is right for the Sigma 150-600mm C version? I am not sure if you all have heard of...

Tamron 150-600mm vs Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary

Has anyone done an actual head to head comparison with these two lenses? Not specs but pics to compare IQ. Both are priced about the same. I was wondering If anyone has both lenses, if they could show pics of the same thing, with the two different lenses..

    The 1.5 crop factor

I was told that an fx lens on a dx body was 1.5 times the focal length. So a 200mm fx lens is 300mm on a dx body. Is that correct? But what I tried today slightly disproved that. I have the sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. I also have the Nikon 55-300mm f/ 4.5-5.6 lens. I took a picture of an object...

    D7200 from D5200

The D7200 looks like a really good camera. I have the D5200 and I am wondering how much better the focusing and image quality will be. I am not completely happy with the focusing of my D5200. It does take very good pictures but I find it not consistent. I can be taking a group of pictures all...

D5200 focusing on sky and clouds

I have noticed than when trying to focus on the shy, with or without clouds ,my d5200 will "hunt" to focus and then when I press the shutter button nothing happens. What can I do about ? is it the type of focusing system? There are 2 different types aren't there? Are Fx cameras better for that...

Which system will have better IQ and usability.

I own a D5200 with a sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. I am thinking of putting a sigma 2x teleconverter on it. Another idea is to purchase the Tamron 150-600mm lens instead. Other than the obvious 400mm versus 600mm difference, which will have better IQ and better lower light usability? I am very...

Looking for a good mid range zoom lens

I have the 18-55mm kit lens but find it lacking. What is a good replacement for it. instead of 55mm I would go to 70mm if needed. I have a d5200 to put it on. I don't wanna spend a huge amount of money but maybe up to $1000. Thanks in advance..

    Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 os version

Got tired of the run around about the Tamron 150-600mm here in Canada so I bought the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 os lens. So far all I can say is 'Wow"... I am not a pro so I am sure that they would find this lens not as good as the Nikon version but I just couldn't see paying $1000 more for the Nikon...
