This is a reason I don't trust equipment "reviews" from "professionals".... Venting......... Like most of you, I'll Google a product prior to making a purchase. I hope to find an honest review that will tell me about the real pros and cons. Based on those pros/cons, and other product...

****** W A R N I N G ****** SPOILER ALERT****** W A R N I N G****** I watched the movie "Prisoners" last night. The stars were Jake whats-his-name, and the Wolverine guy. I really enjoyed the movie; it was very suspenseful. Where I had a problem was with the suspect that ended up...

    The Home of a Midwife

This cabin was the home of a mid-19th century midwife. For our Euro-friends, that's old here in the Colonies. She reportedly birthed more than 1000 babies, all of which survived infancy. Ironically, none of her own 24 children lived beyond infancy. 24 babies. Think about it.

    Blue Ridge Parkway Snapshots

I'm not going to make a large number of posts, so there will only be two with a bunch of scenery. The weather was poor with a great deal of fog. I did what I could, but I was very disappointed. I had an original scheme that included 54 pre-planned stops for photos. I didn't get a dozen and...

Orson Wells' "The Stranger" a good lesson in BW Noir Photography

I just finished watching an old movie "The Stranger". It stars Orson Wells, and more importantly, he directed it too. Wells is a master of Black and White film production (Citizen Kane, etc). The Stranger is no exception. Watching the film, I envisioned stills rather than the moving...

Nikon 24 mm f1.4G ..... Wide Angle Prime

My new lens arrived this afternoon. I wouldn't have known it was used. It is in perfect condition. I took some outdoors test photos after 8pm. It was dark enough to activate our light sensors for all the building lights. It wasn't pitch black, but dark enough that I wouldn't normally take...
