    Post your macro photos here

This probably fits better in the macro without a macro lens thread, but had some fun yesterday in the back yard...

    Pets/"Petography" Thread!

Lily wasn't having anything to do with photography yesterday, but I'm blaming her allergies (see all the pollen on the ground in her shadows)..

"Motion" Wasn't prepared for the shot of three images I took of the helicopter, but I'm liking how they came out ... particularly this one which is the first of the series.

"Landscape" One of the last pictures I'll use from the Rough Creek trip, this is when "golden hour" really hit home, as the sun was setting and going in and out of the clouds, the effect on the landscape was awesome! Hopefully i did it justice.

"Architecture" My challenge here was the rock texture on the building was trying to blow out, but when exposing for that the wood awning would be way to dark.

Post your low light long exposures

Tried to do a Scott Murray lightening capture, but all I got were some bright clouds just as the rain started to fall.

    RocketCowboy's 52 in 2015

Let's see if I can't actually start posting some 52s! I'm well behind ... not because I haven't been capturing images (well, not weekly, but still more often than once every 4 months) but most of my images are backlogged in Lightroom while I learn. I'll start with Water:

    Which one?

My thinking is similar to @hark, I like the minute detail in the boats more in the second shot (first shot is too soft in the foreground for me), but would like to see more edge in the sky. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Post your latest purchases.

It ain't much, but it's a 16' USB extension cord so I can do some tethered shooting to see how it looks on the big screen instead of the camera display. :)

    Upgrading

In addition to what @richichi said, when I started itching to upgrade I kept a list of the exact feature differences that would help me out. I built out the "nice to haves" that the D7100 had over my current camera, and when I saw enough difference made the move. Since you're looking at a...

    First Portrait Attempts

@fotojack ... this might be better suited for a separate thread in the Flash section, but since it pertains to these portraits I'll start it here and we can separate later if needed. For a flash setup, I currently have two Yongnuo 568EXs, as well as a pair of Photix Strato TTL triggers (two...

    First Portrait Attempts

It's taken too long to get these processed to the point of posting, but there were several firsts here: first portraits, first use of off-camera flash, first use of light modifiers, ... ok, I'll stop there. Thoughts?

    San Juan PR Ideas?

Anyone been to San Juan PR and have suggestions on where/what to shoot? We have our annual vacation/anniversary get-a-way planned for the end of May, and are doing a southern Caribbean cruise going in/out of San Juan. We tacked on about 36 hours in San Juan post cruise, so looking for ideas...

    Post your 150-600 Tamron shots.

Here's one I particularly like from last week... I thought the camera and lens combination did a good job capture the paintballs in flight, and from a distance.
