A Trip Around the Eastern US

I ordered my remote shutter release on Aug. 6. Since then it has made quite a trip around the eastern US, before arriving in Toronto (past me, btw): (Read from the bottom to the top) Departed 2015-08-13, 07:42:00, Toronto Departed 2015-08-13, 06:08:00, Toronto Arrived 2015-08-13, 04:48:00...

    Particular camera strap?

I'm not sure if this is a knock-off or the real thing, but here is an L-bracket for the Quick Strap. I'm thinking of getting this to use with my BR Curve: Free Shipping Monopods Quick Release Plate For Camera Sling Rapid Shoulder Neck Strap Belt For DLSR SLR Camera -in Tripod Monopods from...

There are about six very small yellow birds in here, smaller than a sparrow. With every step I took, they flew further away. I don't know what kind of birds they are, but they are about the size of a budgie or a finch. After looking at Google images, I think they were yellow warblers. I circled...

    Facebook is a real puzzlement

@Fortkentdad, you and I would disagree on a lot of things, but for some reason I find this refreshing, and I didn't find that on FB. I guess it's because on FB, my contact with another person - say a Pentecostal pastor who is opposed to drinking alcohol - my connection with them had no context...

    Facebook is a real puzzlement

I was on FB from '07 until this past spring. I went too far with adding 'friends' based on interest alone, and I have too many interests, several of which were offensive (such as X-Sinner) to some of the 'friends' I had. I'm a Libertarian, so I had Libertarian friends, but most of them were...

    Life Without a Tripod

We did have the waitress take a shot of us with the little Canon A2300, and this is how it turned out: Shooting a scene like this is a perfect opportunity for learning photography the right way. This is why I love SLR photography. The challenges this presents are priceless to me. Of course...

    Life Without a Tripod

Life Without a Tripod/Lighting Challenge I took my wife out to Lighthouse Cove for a fish dinner today, for our 24th anniversary. It's on the south shore of Lake St. Clair. I don't care how far you have to travel, the view, the atmosphere, and the perch and pickerel are worth the trip. I took...

New strap arrived yesterday. I like it. I just wish it had more tripod functionality. I wrote to BR and told them I would like a fastener with a tripod receiver hole in the bottom, so I could remove my camera and put it on ANY tripod, or else have a Peak Design style plate with a carabiner...

Thank you for your help, first of all. I need to know what program you are using so I can do it myself. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I gave this link above, but here it is again: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/w3kgb2e8rvgukbs/AACLsDlDketpHHL24U2WVF-sa?dl=0 Aside from asking for all of your...

    Photo Restoration

I submitted a roll that had been lying around the house for about 10 years. All of the exposures are pink, and I'm wondering if they can be improved. There are about 20 or so pictures that are important to us. Here is one of the favorites: (This is probably the wrong place for this, but I...

    Pets/"Petography" Thread!

While I was photographing my wife's garden the neighbor's big fat cat walked in the yard. I wanted a shot of her, but I wanted it to be at her level and she wouldn't stop walking around. She finally laid down, so I laid down next to her for this shot.

    Retro's First Roll

I had a lot of trouble the last couple of days with both of my PCs because I was scanning at excessively high DPI. I rescanned the pics at 600 DPI, and my PC worked normally again. Thanks for the help, Don! So this is the last of this roll that I will upload. All of the pictures in this thread...

    Retro's First Roll

Here are my first two pics. I don't like either of them, because of the yellow tinge. I'm pretty sure somebody is going to tell me it's because I didn't use a flash, on the lowest setting I'm sure. I just got an SB-20, which I tested, and it seems to work great. It's in mint condition. I haven't...
