    California Quail (Callipepla californicai)

It could go either way, I suppose. Some people prefer the bokeh while others find it distracting. In this case, I've cropped it down significantly since I've only a 300mm lens and these quail are very skittish. Here is the original image of the quail. I'm not sure I would want to crop it down...

    California Tree Frog (Pseudacris cadaverina)

Every year my wife and I collect tadpoles from the canyons here in San Diego and raise them in our fountain. My grandkids love it and so, too, do the neighborhood kids, who stop by to watch them develop. Most of the tadpoles (aka - pollywogs) have become frogs and all around the fountain you see...

Question for those knowledgeable about guns and ammo

I was given this cool old box the other day and am curious how old you think it might be. And the box looks much cooler in person than it does in these not-so-good photos. Also, do you think I should oil it to help condition the wood or just leave it be? Thanks

I keep an eye on Amazon's prices for externals and it's been awhile since it's gone down to $109 so if you're thinking about picking up a little more space, now might be a good time to do it. Last time I bought mine it flashed down to $99 but that lasted only an afternoon. Amazon.com: Seagate...

Photo of a lifetme? Not quite. How do I show the wings?

I went with 1/1000 sec and was able to mostly freeze their wings, but I think it might have helped that they were cruising in for a landing, too.
