    Hark 2020

Today I shot several photos of geese along with goslings. Thanks to @Marcel for providing the inspiration. Lately geese are the only larger sized birds I've been able to find. But since I am not a geese fan, I've passed up several opportunities to photograph them. This is just one from this...

Suggestions for the June monthly challenge

Since some areas are still experiencing restrictions due to the virus (not only in the US but also abroad), please give me some suggestions for June's monthly challenge that will allow everyone to participate. Or maybe we can do a double topic like is being done for our current weekly challenge...

New NIK Collection 2 on sale

@BackdoorArts can you give a comparison between these two since you've used both extensively? Horoscope Fish have you used both of these? I know previously you used the Nik Collection. I can't remember your knowledge about Topaz.

    Hark 2020

While I am not a fan of geese, these goslings were really cute.

    Hark 2020

The first squirrel photo is cross-posted in the squirrel thread (and is cropped a little from the original file). I interrupted it eating out of the squirrel feeder. I swear it's giving me the finger in the first pic. ;) At least my TC seems to be working fine for now. For a while there, my...

    Post your Squirrel pictures

I don't think this was Wilson, but it appears to be after the hearts of many. Earlier this morning I put sunflower seeds in the squirrel feeder. The feeder has a hinged lid, and since the seeds were getting low, more than half of the squirrel's body was inside the feeder trying to eat. First I...

    Post Your D7200 Photos

This is cross posted in my thread. This was shot at ISO 5000, and the exposure still had to be raised a little in PCC. Due to that, there was quite a bit of noise in the background as well as on some of the white hearts. Fortunately using an adjustment brush in Camera RAW helped lower the noise...

    Hark 2020

These first two images were taken back on April 14th. This one was taken yesterday. I'm surprised the hearts have held up well despite temps dropping down into the 30's during a couple nights.

    Hark 2020

I haven't kept up with posting my images here. During this past month I've taken photos that I haven't yet posted, but I will simply add a couple from today - Male Red-Winged Blackbird.

How To Not let COVID-19 Ruin My Life Or Others

Our county closed the county parks with our township following suit closing the township parks. Thankfully the township reopened township parks but are still trying to stress the importance of social distancing. This was from yesterday.

What are your thoughts on this....

This is getting to be a royal pain! Today I stopped at the park looking for a few birds. Saw some robins, red-winged blackbirds, and geese. Almost everything was in focus like this image. This didn't even require PCC shake reduction which has been standard since the problem began. The I stopped...

What are your thoughts on this....

No, I haven't done that yet. I've used the exact same settings as when it first arrived. This is from the very first time I used it. And in the one below, I opened up all the way. It still shows a great deal of detail. But lately I've been discarding almost everything I shoot with it even...

What are your thoughts on this....

I am very disappointed with this 1.7x teleconverter. Today I used it to photograph the Blue Angels - although they were pretty far away. All of the images wound up being very soft. A little bit of a crop to this image along the same lines as other crops I've done. Not even Shake Reduction could...

Dark spot, do I need to clean my sensor?

Do you have some type of rocket blower? This one is good because it has a filter on the back end to prevent sucking in dust. Your spot might come off just by using this type of blower. Be sure not to insert the tip inside the body. There are online videos on how to use them...

    'My Sunset' phone app

Photography Talk posted a video about the app My Sunset and how it factors in weather conditions to possibly come up with better times for sunrise and sunset photo ops. Of course it isn't going to be 100% accurate, but looking at the forecast over the next 6 days, Friday morning at 6:18am might...

    April 2020 theme: Composition

#1 NOT an entry - just want to get the creative juices flowing. Macro and close-up photography with a larger aperture and longer focal lengths lend themselves very well to Selective Focus (blurred background bokeh). With macro, the closer you are, the more you can stop down and still have a...
