    Hark 2020

I believe these are two different geese. The first image is cross-posted in the Birds thread. In the second pic, I don't recall seeing geese floating with their wings somewhat extended. My guess is the one feather might soon fall off. Both shot with my non-VR Nikon 300mm f/4 coupled with my...

    Post your birds (2)

I thought for sure I saw someone else's image of a goose scratching itself within the past few days. Yet I cannot find it. Had this opportunity a couple days ago but just uploaded the images to my computer tonight.

    Hark 2020

Nikonites only allows a maximum of 10 images per post. This is the last of the photos I took at the Car Show.

    Hark 2020

More car photos from the Car Show on Labor Day. This next one required me to merge 2 images together. When I focused, somehow the emblem missed focus and was soft. Fortunately I took a second photo of the emblem alone. So I was able to reduce the emblem's size in a new layer to fit over...

    Post your Mammals

Thanks, Andy. And yes...I used Nik Dfine2. First I do my basic RAW edits in Camera RAW which has the same tools as Lightroom but set up in a different layout (my PC doesn't like to run both Lightroom and Photoshop at the same time). After my basic edits in CR, I went to Photoshop where I...

    Hark 2020

Yesterday someone mentioned there was a local car show, but by the time I heard about it, the show had already started. I got there about 15-20 minutes before it ended. In total, I'm pretty sure I photographed no more 15 cars but wouldn't have planned to do too many anyway. These are a few of...

    Grid pattern in background

The only person I know of here who might be able to offer additional insight would be @BackdoorArts - maybe Jake has encountered this issue?

Rosh Hashanah thru Yom Kippur 2020

Just a reminder places such as B&H, Adorama, and other camera stores that observe these holidays will most likely be closed for 10 or so days. If you are planning to order, you might want to do it in advance. Otherwise, I don't believe placing an order is available during the days they are...

    Post your Mammals

Taken with the 300mm f/4 non-VR lens plus refurbished 1.7x TC. Although this was in the evening and I hit my capped ISO, capturing the young bunny in mid-lick was priceless. I wasn't even aware of it until I looked at the images on my PC.

On Camera Flash in Portrait Mode

Was the brand you purchased a Stroboframe? I purchased this one for my 35mm film camera and have used it ever since with my DSLR's without any issues. I definitely wouldn't call it flimsy. Stroboframe Quick Flip 350 Bracket. It's very sturdy...

    Hark 2020

I haven't had much luck lately finding wildlife to photograph so was surprised when this young bunny showed up in our yard tonight. Unfortunately I hit my ISO cap of 4000 even though I set my aperture to f/6.7. That is wide open considering the TC I was using. Plus this lens doesn't have any VR...

Weekly Challenge Aug. 26 - Sep 1: Choice of two - you pick

I really wanted to incorporate both choices of this week's challenge into one image but couldn't get the actual vanishing point into my photo. So this is a repeating pattern in black & white.

    Hark 2020

Finding wildlife right now is difficult so I decided to go out with my D750 and 70-200mm lens. A thunderstorm rolled through here moments before, but I missed any lightning. This was taken through my SUV's window between wiper blade sweeps. It's been a while since I used my D750. In fact, when...
