Had just enough time to catch the 30 minutes of sun we had today and happened to be around this nice river.
Her's my trial: 5 exposures 1 stop between. Photomatix pro.
I finally was able to do a decent moon shot. Took me a while and fussing with and without the fine focus adjustments in the D7000 menu. Seems my 70-300 did need a -4 correction.
But, I'm happy since I had tried to do this shot with the tripod earlier this winter, but I froze before I was happy...
I've bitten to photomatix and have to admit I like it very much.
Here's a shot I had tried to work out with CS5's hdr function that didn't work out. With Photomatix, this is what came out.
It's snowing again and the contrast is lousy for photography. But as i was driving back home for lunch I saw this little river.
So I got out, no tripod, continuous bracketing -2 0 +2 raw and jpeg basic.
when I got home, I wanted to do something fast so I used the basic JPEG files to merge to HDR...
As it is snowing a lot and there is just no contrast and I don't want to get the D7K wet, I started playing around with the HDR adjustments in CS5.
this is what came out of it.
It's kind of 3 dimensional and it does attract the eye.
Thanks for viewing
Well, after seeing the others HDRs, I've gotten myself in.
After a tuning, I took 3 different exposures and this is what I got.
Took me a little while to figure out all the adjustments but I'll keep practicing.
Thanks to all who have encouraged me.

Here's my shot of the day. The light outside is just too awful to be used, so I played inside with my frosted glass and this key chain I found inside a piano.
1600 ISO, F8, 1/30s, 18-200 VR at 200, hand held with VR on ;-)

I thought I'd post a few shots I did yesterday and today with the D7000.
Most were done with the 50 1.8.
You can see other pics taken with the 18-200 on my gallery.
Got this with my D90 and 50mm 1.8 last November. Driving home after work, I noticed the frozen cascade and just could not resist stopping and getting the shot.
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I'm a 58 year old Piano Technician. I used to be a photographer but switched to piano service back in 1977.
The digital got me back to photography as I was literally sick of darkrooms in the old days.Pus, I really enjoy the controls digital gives me.
For now, I have...
