That's correct... it doesn't "beep" on focus lock either... On my Z7II, I have to look really close to see that it, in fact, actually focuses... it's so fast... The theory is, if you're out in the wild, and most everything is pretty static, and slow... and all of a sudden, a fast-moving thing...

There are two issues involved. Focusing better is one, but the other indicates that that low-light focusing comes at a cost of an increase in noise... and the question then becomes how much post processing does a wedding photographer want to do...

Here's a discussion of exactly that issue... I personally went from a D810 to a Z7II and was surprised the Z7II didn't last as long... Steve Perry did a lengthy article, you can find on his web site that discusses ways to minimize the battery usage with the Z cameras...

Nikon's Refurb prices are never a bargain. There are several places where the prices are about a 1/3 off for basically, open box used... with warrantees... The only thing that makes the Z9 refurb prices from Nikon a bargain at this point is, that camera hasn't been out long enough to flow into...

The last time they released a semi semi high end camera with one slot they were chastised mercilessly... they didn't repeat that mistake.
