I convinced my wife to let me buy a Nikon D600 ! Just gotta sell my D7000 and my 17-55 2.8 Then get the D600 and a 24-85mm to replace it. Should end up making $100 from it. Buying all used of course I don't mind not having the 2.8 I usually only use that lens for automotive and group shots...

    Waiting in line for Santa

Did another one for another friend. Tried a white backdrop draped over the back of the couch. And their kid about 5 feet in front of it in a little couch covered with a fluffy blanket. One flash was blasting the background, another on in front and a reflector on the other side Thought it came...

    Spot on the bed

What white balance was the camera set to when you took it? It really depends, a lot of times you want the whites to look white, if you have a really warm light in your room, making everything yellow or orange, and you want to leave the picture that way, that it is up to you, but also "fixing" it...

    Flash Sync Speed

Oh cool, read your article about flash freezing the subject, I knew flash did that, but never really put 2 and 2 together to try in for indoor pictures with a lower shutter speed. I was playing around right now on my 70-200mm, got these results The first one was at 1/10 a second, just to test...

    Waiting in line for Santa

Followed my friends up to the mountain for a Winter wonderland event, its only place here where the snow sticks. They let me take some photos of them for practice. I like the 2 b&w portait ones the best, they seem very sharp, they were taken with the 17-55mm, the others were taken with the...

Those are nice, I did this one with the 18-200mm, had to crank up the ISO since it wasn't a fast lense, but it still did OK, it was my first try, was in a horrible spot thogh, wasn't about the fight the crowd in Disneyland

Got a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 in the mail!

Ordered a used one from eBay after reading all the great reviews about it, especially compared to the price of the Nikon one. It had a bunch of dust and smudges on both ends of the lens, but a quick cleaning revealed it was spotless, thankfully. I don't know how someone could keep a lens in...

    D7000 commander mode?

Just got the D7000 in the mail, its it beautiful! So far after taking a few pictures, ive notices the shutter button is a lot different than the D5100 you just have to barely touch it to focus, the D5100 had a noticeable stop when pressing on it to focus than press more to take the picture...

Playing with new lens and flashes

Did some shots of my friends truck today, also tried panning for the first time, need more practice on that too. I did others in front of the glass building with more of the truck in the frame for my friend, but just showing you the wide one for fun, I liked the way it the building looked

There is no filter, here is the picture with the flares, cropped down so you can see them closer And here is one of the houses, they are the only ones that have them up yet. I think next time ill go earlier, I think I like seeing the dark blue sky with it rather than just all black. I tried...

Going to take Christmas light pictures

There is an area in town where are the "mansions" are, and they go over the top crazy on lights every year, was thinking about taking pictures of them. If there are a lot of cars going by, maybe ill have to increase the iso so I can lower the exposure time so no headlights get in the shot...

    D7000 commander mode?

Hello, I just realized I can sell my D5100 and SU-800 and have enough to almost buy a D7000. Am I correct in reading that there is a built in commander mode and won't need the SU-800 to fire off my SB-600's anymore? Seems like the right thing to do if so? Sent from my VS870 4G using Tapatalk
