    Nikon Coolpix A External Microphone

Anyone using a Coolpix A with an external microphone? Similar to the SB-700 not having a PC port for flash sync, I have no idea why nikon left out a 3.5mm jack for a mic input - perhaps to keep the package small? Anyway - My thought is to buy a mini usb > 3.5mm female jack to try out...

Anyone able to use the Nikon WU-1a wifi adapter with the fuji instax printer?

I am considering either the Fuji Instax Share SP-1 or SP-2 wireless printer and want to know if it is compatible with the Nikon WU-1a wifi adapter. I called Fuji, they don't know. Not able to find any information online. I would be using it with my Coolpix A while out and about. Thanks. Joe

    Headshot

Peter Hurley came to town recently and I was inspired to drag out my OCF gear. I've been talking to a few people about headshots recently and am working on my work flow. I picked up two Westcott Rapid Boxes (10" x 24" strip), had them in front at 45 degree angles. A speedlight was behind me...

Frequency of new DSLR cameras released

With the new D7500 hitting the streets and me diving into 35mm SLR cameras recently, I started thinking. Yes, technology advances rapidly, but taking a look at the Nikon DSLR timeline below compared to the SLR timeline (Source: Wikpedia), new cameras are hitting stores so frequently, perhaps...

Coolpix A and film styles in Picture Control

Earlier this week I saw a facebook post linking to an article on SLRLounge from March 30th https://www.slrlounge.com/shoot-film-styles-on-nikon-how-to/ This shows how to download old film types and import them to your 'Picture Controls' on your late model Nikon camera. I tried this on the...

    My 35mm film kit

Like most of us, I shot 35mm film for many years. My father had a Minolta XG-7 and I bought a new XG-1 in 1979 or so (yes, I actually saved up paper route money). My kit consisted of the XG-1 body and a 50mm f1.7 lens. I shot that until the mid 90s when I moved to a Minolta Freedom Zoom 150...

    Nikon F3/T repairs?

I am looking to sell a few of my film cameras and buy a Nikon F3. I found a nice black F3/T which is firing mechanically, but not with batteries. The camera is in excellent condition otherwise. I assume this would be a $100-$200 repair? I know it isn't much information to go on, but does this...

Printed a hockey shot on metal through Adorama

Finally printing more work. I came across a recent image of my son playing hockey that I loved. A quick edit and cloning out of a sign on the wall in the background, I uploaded this to Adorama PIX for a 17" metal print. I love it :)

    Good photo news

Just some good photo related news. The last two weeks had a request for an image I took to be used in a 2017 calendar published by a prominent building here in Detroit and a hockey parent ordered a print of their son :) Baby steps.
