I get very confused with the autofocus choices so want to know if I am doing it right
With my Tamron 150-600mm (shooting birds) I usually use shutter priority as I want a fastish shutter speed. I set my focus to "focus tracking with lock-on" and then leave it at "normal" when the next menu...
Someone suggested I do a tutorial on creating a panorama and as I recently learnt how to fill edges rather than crop, I thought I'd share how it is done
Create a Panorama in Photoshop CS6/CC
This is purely the creating of the panorama. No editing included as we all have our individual editing...
I have a D80 and a D7100
I have a Tamron 18-270mm zoom and the Tamron 150-600mm zoom
I am going whale watching on Friday. I'd like to try the 150-600mm zoom out but want to take the 18-270mm zoom as back up in case I find I can't handle the weight against boat movement with the 150-600 lens...
OK...I seem to have inadvertently changed some setting that controls the focal point.
In autofocus, if I hold the button half way down, the focal point jumps all about. It has never done this before. So what might I have changed do you think?
It's just that I find it a bit disconcerting.
I've just signed up to Creative Cloud with the $9.95/month deal. I use Nik HDREfex a lot. I do my tonemapping in HDREfex and then save my file as smart object 32bit TIFF so I can later open (and maybe PP differently) and save as 8 bit JPG, but now (with PS CC) when I go to save the file as 8bit...
Can any PS experts please tell me if there is away to either manually merge photos into a panorama in CS6, or some way I can force it to auto merge the photos in the order I want it to?
I ask because I am trying to stitch together 20 images (10 on one level, 10 on another) to form a 360 deg...
I did this to see what extra I could get by putting extension rings behind my 105mm macro lens
I had to do it handheld as I don't have a fine adjustment setup for my tripod so the focus is not fantastic, but looking at how much of the coin is visible, you can see how much closer you can get to...
Can any of you D7100 users give me some tips on manual focus with my camera please?
I have found great articles etc on using the auto focus but I am now trying to manually focus all the time, and am finding that the focus point gets in the way of good vision for focusing. How do the rest of you...
Local Street Art. We have a flood protection wall along the river in town. On the river side the council allows locals to paint graffitti/street art and some of it is excellent work. So....here are a few shots I took this week
and a waterdragon that was just hanging...
I started a 365 project on 2nd Jan. I'll just post 1 pic at a time from the beginning but we are well into it.
This is what started it all. Not my first DSLR as I have had a D80 since 2009, but only really started using it properly in 2011

Hello everyone, I'm a hobby photog from NSW Australia. I recently upgraded from a nikon D80 to a D7100. I love it but am today tearing my hair out trying to get it to work with flashes. A google search brought me here :) So I am hoping I can find help and I am going to browse around the forum to...
Please help......
I am trying to use a Yongnou d7100 flash with my d7100 and I am only getting half an image when I take a photo.
1. Is it possible to use this flash with this camera?
2. How do I stop the 1/320 flash synch restriction? If I use a shutter of less than 1/320 I get a full image so...
