    Auto ISO question

When I bought my D3100 in Dec 2010, I set the ISO to 100. I have recently bought an SB-600. I wasnt sure if I wanted the ISO to adjust, so I tried it at a setting of max 1600 and shutter low limit of 1/15. So the question is, should I be using auto ISO or locking it down. I tried a few shots...

    In-camera editing

I was playing around with bouncing the flash on my newest acquisitoin this morning. My son was totally entranced by a cartoon, so I got a nice side profile picture. I tried some in-camera editing and came up with this.

    Ugh!!! NAS got me again

Got my tax refund figured out. Nice bit of coin coming back, so I went and bought a SB-600. I like how my popup worked for the fill flash, and wanted better reach for that, as well as better lighting.

Rant: Issues with a different Forum

Product Review: MeiKe Battery grip for the D3100

MeiKe pronounce M K released their D3100 battery grip. I received it today and tested it out. It is made of the same plastic as the body of the D3100. The body lines are perfect for the D3100 body, with a rubber grip on the vertical hand surface for shooting protrait. The shutter release is...

D3100 battery grip now available in Canada

It is now availble at Amazon.ca Amazon.ca: d3100 battery grip I see Neewer on eBay has this too, but I would shy away from him due to his profile score, and the latest rash of complaints. I have ordered one from amazon.ca and a genuine en-el14 battery from a reputable seller on eBay. This is...

    Full moon shot 2-17-2011

There was slight haze between the cloud cover, so this is not as sharp as I would like. Maybe next full moon. I changed the WB to shade, because I like the gold color.

    First attempt at time lapse

I have some ND, NDG, CPL filters on the way. I needed them for this, as I was after shutter drag. I bought a intervalometer (IVM) on eBay for $22 CAD. I shot with my 50mm lens. ISO 100; f/22; 1/15. I set the IVM to 399 shots at 1 sec intervals. I found some freeware on the net and set the video...
