My real name is Eric Walton, apparently.

It's said that we all have a doppelganger somewhere in the world - I found mine today. A Facebook page updated and I see this picture of myself and an acquaintance from a long time ago, but I don't remember the picture and I would rather cut off my own face than take a selfie - BUT I RECOGNIZE...

    Rainbow Clouds

I don't know if it has anything to do with my cloud picture yesterday, but the timing is amazing if it doesn't. Yesterday I captured this photo of the clouds having this strange rainbow coloring to them. I got the picture and showed Wendy here on the forum because we had never seen anything like...

    iPad photo gallery app

I never in a lifetime or two would have ever imagined owning an Apple product by choice, but Win 10 pushed me there and now I own my first - iPad Air. What I need is direction to a good photo app. On Android tablets the free and included apps automatically size the photo to fit the screen, my...

Tips for Deep Sky Stacker wanted

So I shot pictures last night of the stars to use in Deep Sky Stacker (DSS). I loaded them up and it failed to locate any stars. I bumped up the exposure by 2 stops in camera raw. Now the program recognized stars in the photo. This is leading me to believe I needed to over expose? Any other tips?

    Insecurities we don't see.

I have a shoot tonight and before any shoot I find out what a person likes about themselves and doesn't like so much. The lady I am shooting tonight is gorgeous both as a person and physically. She shared with me what she doesn't like about her physical self, to which I said that would be no...

Help a fifth grader out. Identify bird.

My little photography friend at school captured an image of a bird she nor I had ever seen before. Now, the picture is blurry, the lighting was dark, but maybe someone can help us figure out this "bigfoot" sighting. The bird was a number of shades of green. There is black in the wings and tail...

    Moab Man's 366 in 2016

I'm in for this year. My objective is to refine some of my techniques and be a little more disciplined with some of my techniques. First up, almost like a new years resolution, is to be very regimented about using my Expodisc. I have had Expodiscs for years, but have not been as regimented in...

    NSFW Boudoir Pose

This young adult lady thinks she looks silly right now. There is a song that goes something to the effect that you can't appreciate the beauty of your youth until it's gone. I explained this is truer than you will ever realize, particularly as a young lady. One day, she will truly treasure this...

    NSFW - Boudoir Pose

My wife has fought and battled me to allow me to do an artistic boudoir photo of her. I finally convinced her and even she couldn't deny she looked amazing. Here are three different versions I did.

You want... NEED these if you use filters and more.

My wife and I shop quite often from an app called Wish. You can also access them from their website Wish.com. They sell a lot of stuff direct out of China for prices that are stupid cheap and the shipping is unbelievably cheap. When shopping on the site I don't purchase things that I need a...

    Portrait day

Shooting a couple of portraits today. Setting up the lighting, using myself as the guinea pig, I think I turned out quite well and I'm not entirely in focus either. Had to wing that. I like the black and white better. Shot this using my beauty dish.

Elinchrom's cursed 7mm umbrella mount SOLVED!

If you have Elinchrom strobes they have this ridiculous brand specific 7mm umbrella shaft mount. Standard is 8mm and there is no step-down adapter made. I was just short of starting to hack my umbrella shafts and modify them when I looked online one more time and stumbled upon this video...

The power and reach of a photograph.

I photograph seniors, families, sports, etc... for varying customers and they all love it. While I'm not diminishing how good it feels when someone feels you have truly captured them and made them happy, I recently had a really cool experience helping a young man out. He rides BMX bikes in a...

    Innovation in sensor filter technology

Zombie Crawl - Ogden, UT 2015

LOTS and lots of photographers out tonight to shoot the zombies. Warm weather and a lot of fun. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the night.

Tamron 150-600mm - Sports Lens?.... Hmmm...

We have all had equipment that lives up to what it is supposed to do, but sometimes, sometimes, you find that piece of equipment that just seems to keep giving more than it's supposed to. I truly feel this way about my Tamzooka. Quite a while ago I had a shoot for a multi mini-field soccer...

LR - Trying to save a FREAKING PICTURE!

Frustration is boiling over. Using LR is so much like using a Mac... not simple, logical, or straight to the point - reinventing the wheel for some reason! I am trying to save an image that I have played with in LR because Don encouraged me to give LR another try. All I want it to do is save...

    Photographing a photographer? LOL!

So there I am, waiting to shoot a sunset that goes flat. Not exactly sure what I want to do, and the light is really gone, sun disappeared about 20 minutes ago. I look down and zoom in to see this very unorthodox photographer taking pictures. I'm a guy and I can admit that I thought if you...

Back from meeting The Don and Gloria

It was a great trip meeting up with @Don Kuykendall and his better half. The two of them were fun to shoot with. The Don... Don is a big guy, and an older gentleman, but his youth is inside his camera. You might think with all Don's photography years he might wane in his excitement to...
