Improper use of cameras in House of Cards (TV show) is hilarious

Doesn't have to be all that wrong - the photographer might have used a wide angle lens trying to capture man's waist to shoulder+some building, or a tree or anything like that above the man's head/shoulder. Like here (though, from behind):

    Post your Photographing the photographer.

A good friend of mine (a photographer too), showed me some photos taken by his tablet - he was very much impressed with the quality of it's built-in camera. I claimed that my, less expensive and somewhat older "S8000 Jet" can produce photos just as good as those. My friend did not believe me...

sigma 28mm f2.8 mini -wide nikon fit

@STM "I personally have no need for autofocus". Exactly what I meant by "amusing" - that special feel of achieving focus by turning the lens's focus ring. Even more "amusing" it gets (for me, at least) when it is done on a zoom lens with a single ring where you slide it to zoom and turn it...

Looking for critique on this photo

Basically, this is a nice photo. That first window on the left (or whatever it is) should be cutted off - it only distracts the viewer. Slightly corrected horizon (counterclockwise) and this cropping would make it more "readable" I guess:

    PostsOnPercocet's thread of ocular delight

You are advancing nicely, for the time being! Obviously, you've already learnt a lot about aperture - while taking these photos of your dog, you've changed the aperture value from 22 to 4, so you did a good demonstration of the impact of the aperture's value (and the distance between you and the...

    The right exposure...

First of all, when people say that "there is/isn't very much noise", or "the amount of noise is/isn't acceptable" etc., it is very relative (personal, subjective) statement. I made a lot of portraits using a PEN camera (half-frame sensor!) at ISO 1600/2000/3200, JPGs straight out of camera...

50mm with Macro Reverse Mount Ring (not stacked lens)

Olympus PEN+Nikon bayonet adapter+reverse lens adapter+58mm f/2. Taken under very poor light (didn't have time enough to set it properly, so I used ISO 2000 - sloppy it is, but I was eager to get just ANY results:rolleyes:) f/2, 1/20 sec, about 20% was cropped, mini-tripod) just for the sake...

    Wondering about this crop/edit

It's OK - you have taken it the right way, did a little editing/playing with colors (saturation and so on)... You don't really need any "inputs', just keep on learning, discovering different tools within the photoshop and alike... For example:

What are YOU doing in YOUR part of the world right NOW?

@ScottM: just remember to use a long telephoto when shooting crocodiles;) We, here at Belgrade Zoo have a few young Cuban crocodiles - I was AMAZED with how fast and sudden they can move in certain situations (when I saw that for the first time)... And as I am posting, I keep an eye on video...

    18-55mmG VR-II

Useful lens, interesting places to visit and take photos of. Be it because of your dog's nudging or something else, your photos tend to elevate to the left (on most of them, horizon should be corrected for some 2-2.5 degrees clockwise -this often happens, especially when one is shooting at wide...
