    Lens compatability

Well if this is the AF-S 17-35mm F2.8... then I do not believe it would work. While the newer lenses are designated AF-S, it still would run on the AF motor on the bodies of the higher body cameras. The correct designation on lenses would be "G" lenses which do have the focus motor built in...

I found this pretty interesting. (NSFW)

While I am not going to post images due to any legalities this is amazing photography work and post process to make interesting splashes, IMHO. I can only imagine the amount of time put into the PP to get these to work. Check Out How This Awesome Photographer Turned His Subjects into...

So at my job pops up a 15mm F5.6 Ai lens...

Why oh why do they do this to me?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Wondering if it would be worth the money for just a chance at owning a rarity such as this... Lens looked clean from a quick inspection. This is the lens in question... not my image.

Yeah... Yeah... I should know better... but I'll ask anyway.

I'm looking to pick up a new head to share between a Manfrotto and Gitzo tripods that I just picked up (my thought is only using one head to swap between them, because the Gitzo is a bit too bulky (long legged systematic) to lug around on my backpack for everyday use). Now I know that I'll be...

    Read this today... Truth

While there was a plug at the end of it.. I think what they did say about the D700 is true. Why the Legendary Nikon D700 DSLR Camera is Still Making History It’s July 2014 and the Nikon D700 DSLR is six years old and it’s still one of the best cameras Nikon ever made – and it made, and...

    Newbie problem, please help :)

Paul, this is the 18-55 VRII AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II Lens | NIKKOR Lens from Nikon The button retracts the lens to make it more compact. This would also more than likely not allow the lens to function until the it is brought out of the retracted state.

    I was kind of bored...

So I took pictures of my D300s. :p So all in all, I do still need to get used to the camera. Trying to get around the menu, settings, shortcuts... But I am in love with her. Love the way she feels in hand, balance, weight and size difference to my D3100 and D90. However I really...

    Merging forums...

Maybe it may be a good idea merging the D3xxx forums together, the same said with the D5xxx bodies. With such similarities between the D3/5xxx bodies is there such a need for a D31,32,33 etc. While MP count slightly changes and relatively small changes distinguishing the newer body, everyone...

    I think I did a bad thing... :(

So going through my local CL ads I came across a used 70-210 F4 (circa 80s version). Went to see the lens and it was definitely in great condition for its age. Picked up the lens. So currently don't know if this is buyers regret or not. But well here goes one of the first few images I...

Yup. I appreciate my 35 1.8G, however it does take a back seat to my other primes.

60mm and 85mm Nikon Macro Lenses

ok well wish I seen this a bit sooner, as I do take pictures of sealife through the looking glass. All will do as you need. The 85 and 105 will bring you further back from the tank. Since you are shooting through glass, if you want to be upclose to it I recommend the 40mm. If you want to go...

    Tough choices....

It's kind of hard trying to decide what you will be shooting on a day to day/monthly basis. So to try and narrow down lenses for you to purchase is a very delicate thing. Everyone has their opinions on what they like, based on what they normally shoot. So with that said... If you are going...

Nikon 1J3... Not a bad camera at all. First impressions.

So I recently got a hold of the latest rendition of the Nikon J series. This came as a kit from Costco which included bag, 10-30 and 30-110 lens, WU-1B wireless adapter and a 16g SD Card. Camera is not so bad, however it takes some getting used to as I like viewing through a viewfinder as...

Looking for a better lens to shoot youth hockey - 80-200mm f4?

I took this at the beginning of the year... These were taken with almost no arena lights on... and only dealing with a bit of natural light. You should do fine with a 80-200 F4... but probably even better with a 70-200 F2.8... Especially in low light.
