We do the same as @mikew. Just buy for the grandkids. The wife and I buy what we want when we want, and can afford. We were thinking about another weekend get away to Niagara Falls. But the new stove/range we just bought took care of that idea!

Too bad I live so far away I could help you. I'm a electrician, been chasing sparks for over 30 years. You really should get your circuit breakers marked by location. It's easy to do. Just plug a light in a outlet you want to identify and turn the breakers off one at a time until the light goes...
