This afternoon I took several images at a local park with my D750. Slot 1 is NEF and slot 2 is jpeg fine. When it came time to convert the NEF to DNG, this one file cited an error and couldn't be converted. The slot 2 jpeg image doesn't have the banding at the bottom like this NEF image. The NEF...

B&H has the Spyder5 Pro calibration system selling for only $109 in their Deal of the Day. Datacolor Spyder5PRO Display Calibration System S5P100 B&H Photo

After purchasing a Manfrotto monopod, I searched through the various types of heads available. Since I already have 2 Manfrotto tripod heads (one takes a hexagonal plate while the other is a rectangular QR plate), I looked at monopod heads made by them so I can use the same plates. Manfrotto...

Just a little humor to start off the New Year! Even though I am a female, I got a chuckle out of this. ;)

Since Pretzel wrote about his newly acquired Sigma macro lens, I've been thinking more about macro photography myself. One thing I lack is a focus rail. What are features to consider? And does it matter what type of tripod head is being used? I own 2 different tripods that take completely...

In one of Rick M 's threads, I mentioned how Walmart has some nice frames for decent prices. Walmart's frames may not be conducive for those looking to sell framed photos, but if anyone is looking to give a framed photo as a gift, some of these are a very nice quality. All photos are sooc from...

Amazon is selling some Pelican cases today only. After comparing a couple with B&H's prices, Amazon's prices seem to be pretty good. Amazon.com: Deal of the Day: Over 60% Off Select Pelican Camera Cases: Electronics

This is a Facebook contest run by Outdoor Photography. Like and Share the post then 'like' the Sigma Corporation of America's FB page. The contest rules are available in the link. Obviously for FB people only. Contest only for today...

I'd like to set up a free website for my neighborhood watch but have no clue which freebie sites are good. I created a Google web site only to have Google disable it. I tried linking local news articles on the main page, but apparently they don't allow links from other urls to be used. :( In...

The National Park Service is looking for a photographer who uses large format gear for black and white images. Perhaps there is a budding Ansel Adams among us? ;) The National Park Service Is Currently Offering a Potential Photography Dream Job | Popular Photography

After searching the forum, I didn't see a thread dedicated to various companies that print wall calendars. What company have you used for printing wall calendars? Please feel free to add any specific info on a company you've used. Here are some suggestions of info to include: 1. Is it printed...

Today I took a few fog photos which, to the best of my knowledge, is the first time I've done so. I shot RAW+jpeg and converted the RAW to DNG. Here is a SOOC jpeg of an image which is quite similar to how the scene looked (resized for the forum was the only post processing done). I used...

Jeff Cable, a photographer who has shot the Olympics as well as other sporting events--normally a Canon shooter--was asked to come up with some drone footage to be displayed in B&H's store. There are some impressive sights in the video although the music tends to be repetitive.

Saw this yesterday--Canon tried to buy Sigma but was rejected. Haven't yet seen it posted here, but if it is, I will delete this thread. It's from Peta Pixel. Canon Tried to Buy Sigma and Was Rejected: Report

I bought the Nikon 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G lens knowing people said it isn't weather sealed, yet it has the rubber gasket on the rear end, and some online sites state it is weather sealed. So my question is what constitutes a weather sealed lens? Are there also internal areas that need weather...

Not sure which sub-forum is the most appropriate.... A camera store in the greater Philly (Pennsylvania) area is running some specials for the holiday season. Because of MAP (the pricing that manufacturers allow to be displayed publicly), they can't post their prices online. The store is...

The other day after I created a brush preset for my watermark, I noticed the option for unconstrained crop was gone. While creating the watermark, I used the unconstrained option before saving it as a brush. Now when I use the Ratio option, it works as the Unconstrained option. Is there any...

Today was the first time I pulled the charger out of the D750 box because I've been using the charger from my D610. The long cord that attaches between the charger and the wall isn't there. Did Nikon stop including that cord? The little plug that attaches directly to the charger is there so I...

I need to get a new router as mine is 8 years old and is having multiple connectivity problems every day. My internet provider does offer them to lease, but I'd rather purchase mine as it is far cheaper in the long run. The problem is I don't know what specs to keep in mind. I use my router...

When I use Photoshop on jpegs, the majority of times I right click on a jpeg and select the option to open with PCC 2015. Since the upgrade from PCC 2014 to PCC 2015, the option to work this way is no longer available. I thought perhaps I just needed to associate the program with the files it...
