    My first crack at HDR.

Is this closer to the example of HDR? I want to be sure that I understand what HDR is supposed to look like. Pete

    Digital Photography PC

The "other white meat" is called LabelFlash from Toshiba. Personally, I like it better than Lightscribe, but the discs only come in blue color. How-ever, they are very shiney. The Lightscribe discs ahve gotten scratched. Just a thought. Pete

    My first crack at HDR.

I am not a big fan of HDR. I have always preferred the inherent reality of taking a shot and tweaking it just a little. HDR seems to turn everything upside down. But it seems to me that to more completely round out my experience, I have no real choice but to delve into HDR. This is my shot. I...

    Project 365-2011 Jengajoh

I took the liberty of cleaning up the original. If you would not mind a little tip. What I did was to blow the image up to 300% and then I used the clone stamp to erase the stem all the way up to the branch thingy. It makes for a cleaner cloning. I hope you don't mind. Pete

    Just messin' around

Here is another shot. This has been post processed as "vivid"and then cropped. I have decided that this camera will be my new best inanimate friend. Thank you jdeg and Jen for your very kind comments. Pete

Just getting the feel of the D3100. I think that I am going to like this camera a lot! Only PP is re-size and the addition of the 8 point stars in the pansy pic. Pete

Weekly Challenge Mar. 23-30: Family Pet

This is Tabby Cat, my "other" best buddy. He is rocking the calendar at over 14 years old. He is doing his 3rd favorite thing. 1st... Eating 2nd... Sleeping 3rd... Waking up 4th... Start Over Pete BTW This is, in all probability, the last picture I take with my trusty D70. Next week I...

Any comments welcome on any of my favourite pictures

Re: Any comments welcome on on of my favourite pictures I took the liberty of showing you what I meant. I used a rotation of 1 degree clockwise. Cropped it to fit and cloned out some of the spots. I don't usually do this without permission, but I was in a hurry. If I offended, I apologize in...

    Weekly Challenge Mar. 16-23: Food

Homemade Chicken & Broccoli Casserole sprinkled with shredded Cheddar Cheese. I put just a touch of sour cream on the right and a touch of Guildens Spicy Mustard on the left. The beverage is Kool-Aide, not wine. I made this last night because Mrs Pete is very fond of Broccoli. Myself, I am not...

What kind of photography business do you have?

I'm not sure how to classify what I do. I shoot whatever interests me, be it flora, fauna or architecture. I have 2 storefronts on Zazzle (Lighthouses of North Carolina and New England: Home: Zazzle.com Store & iPad Covers ONLY: Home: Zazzle.com Store) where I have my images on a myriad of...

    Weekly Challenge March 9-16: Contrast

Back in the day when I was trying novelty uses for my photography, I used to make nightlights. I used the flat panel cold touch lights instead of the incandescent because of small fingers getting burned. Here, for your consideration, is my iteration of "Contrasts of Nightlights". Pete ps...

You might want to try to "Phocus" on this...

I think that all of us have an idea of the epitome of cameras. For me, that would be the Hasselblad H4D 40 medium format digital SLR. Think of it. A 40 megapixel medium format camera! Of course, the $14,000 base price is a little off putting, but that is what goals are for. Anyway, I went to...
