a pair of western scrub jays flying about today. this one stayed in the shade

12th Jan 2016 sunny today and no cedar waxwings about. I liked the color of the leaves

with all the rain the flowers are coming back.

11th Jan 2016 only my second sighting of the waxwings and it was cloudy, I will be watching for them now.

I guess I was to close with the last one?

I get a lot of help from Kevin H and @wev . I try first to look it up in my books, but more than often i need confirmation. One of the main reasons i took this challenge.

week 2 another new bird for me, a Sharp shinned Hawk.

that's as close as I got to the golden eagle, didn't even see it sitting on the ground until I past it, took off as I stopped.

everything is the same in these two pics except the center, but pay attention to the eyes, what's up with the second one, is he blinking???
