while snapping at the grebe's i heard a passerby say there's the eagle, so a quick spin around and i almost got it. he missed the fish also. Bad day for both of us. lol

these 3 Eared Grebes, Canadian Goose and a White faced Ibis (which i fail to snap at cause i thought it was common) made the Rare Alert on Ebird.

definitely saw 1 chick, possibly 2. i an going to reach out to the new person running the lake to see if i can get free access in return of giving them my pics for their website, the last lady in charge was ok with this.

probably about 3/4 to a mile away, you really need to hire a boat to get closer.

29th April 2018 a nice cool start to my trip up to Lake Hemet today, 32 deg F at 6am, the mist was right up to the lake edge early on, i had to go to 6400 iso to make out the deer in the meadow.
