    Upload trial

The program I have been using, fastzone resizer doesn't seem to offer a 'Large' setting. I never noticed one on GIMP either. I have just been selecting recommended sizes. Aplogies for the poor quality, but I have just taken a screen print direct from my pc to try and show what I am using.

    Upload trial

Further to the previous discusion on EXIF missing @hark @Marilynne @blackstar, I have tried a few different upload options including GIMP and nothing resulted in my EXIF appearing. I was wondering if @wev would you mind sharing what browers and resizing software you use when uploading, as your...

    Shutter count per photo trip

Just curious how many actuations do you typically shoot when out with your D500 when using for BIF or Wildlife? I am already finding that with 10FPS in Continuous High , that I am already clocking up several hundred shots everytime I am out with the D500. I know this camera is rated for 200k...

    Post your Birds in Flight

Cindy @hark, I have changed to the sizes to 1024 on the longest side and uploaded again as below. I think I had it set at 1024 on the short side and 12** on the long. Hopefully this might now work?

    Wide Angle manual lenses recommendations

Is there any older wide angle manual Nikon lenses worth buying (if they even exist)? By wide I am talking about 10mm to say 12mm for use on a crop body. I know there are several AF choices of more current lenses eg. Sigma 10-20 (older and newer versions) Tokina 11-16 (older and newer versions)...

    New Toy

I am a bit late to the D500 party, but better late than never! My new toy arrived today after selling my all time favourite Canon lens and a Canon body to fund the purchase. I think that should make me a true Nikonite

    Steve Perry Hospitalized with COVID

I just did a Google search on this and found a few recent articles regarding the vaccine helping with some cases of long covid. Surprisingly there has been no mention of this in the U.K. media that I have seen. Good to know though and hopefully it can help sufferers. Thanks @BackdoorArts for...

    Happy with your D500?

I ordered one a few days ago and can’t wait to get it. I found out that my normal place of purchase were low on stock so I thought I better move fast. @wev that is an amazing shutter count on your copy. Would it not be possible just to get a replacement shutter?

    A Yellow photo day

Had some fun in the local park today searching for yellow subjects for the weekly challenge. We are still severely restricted on travel at the moment due to lockdown and covid. Therefore have to make with the best we can in the local vicinity.

    XQD card prices

I am guessing that XQD cards cost a lot of money in other parts of the world and not just the UK. Can we expect to see these prices come down in time as I notice that CFexpress cards now seem to be the so called best/fastest/most robust card out there. For what you could spend on a CFexpress...

    What attracted you to Nikon?

Just curious as to how and why people became Nikon users. I took a long time to get here having been with Zenith, Pentax and Minolta(all film cameras) prior to the arrival of digital. At that moment in time it was a toss up for me between Nikon and Canon, only choosing the latter due to a larger...

    Safety first, photography second!

I am sure many of us have been in a situation where we have gone that extra step to obtain a desired shot. In the majority of cases we have probably not thought too much about the potential risks involved, but we should assess first if it safe to do so. A few years ago, a photographer who was...
