If you want to go FF the d600/610 is considered the lightest with 24mp, no ibis though.

Probably for depth of field, just a guess.

The D200 was and in my opinion is still a great bit of kit. The rendition of the CCD is something else. If you want to learn how to use a DSLR this is the one to go for. Robust construction with all the settings you need to become confident in what you do. I had two and they never let me down...
