Close up filters for Nikon 105mm

Just rereading this thread I think Clovishound already answer my question in post n.2 With the MC105 I would need more extensions to achieve the same size subject I'm getting with the MC50 +36mm... Did I get it right?

Close up filters for Nikon 105mm

Thank you guys, I'm confused twice as much now... :D What I was trying to understand is if the reason why it seems that most manufacturer hover around the 30-40 mm is because after that, you no longer can take the picture.. Specifically with the MC series from Nikon.. Here is an example of my...

Close up filters for Nikon 105mm

I would like to ask a further question on this subject... I have the Viltrox tubes set, and when I'm using it with the MC 50 I get a great magnification of the subject. I had a look at Thom site where he explains what the extension tube does... But I'm not getting it.. For instance when the 50...

This is very annoying on Z7ii

That's not a bad idea at all... Also for a more direct approach to Nikon: https://www.nikonproductsupport.com/s/contactsupport?language=en_US Mind you, I used twice and other than receiving a confirmation and that they would have reply within the 48 hours, no much else happened after that...

    Upgrade to a Z

I just purchase the Z7II for the same reasons... Also, the ZTF adapter can be purchased for around $150. The range of Nikon Z lenses is getting better and better. If you don't mind a slight bigger (heavier) body camera, the Z8 would fit all your needs...

BF Hammer 2026: Me and my Zf

It looks like some else already tried the combo... https://photographylife.com/reviews/nikon-z-1-4x-2-0x-teleconverters Oh well, I'm a sucker for gadgets... ;)

BF Hammer 2026: Me and my Zf

I guess, there is only one way to find out... To be honest I'm more concern about the lens being able to focus correctly... I was able to find a cheap Viltrox 2x teleconverter, so I decided to give it a try... We also have the option of camera + Viltrox 2x teleconverter + Nikon ZTF adapter +...

BF Hammer 2026: Me and my Zf

I thought about this and I was wondering if: Camera + Viltrox 2.0x Teleconverter + Viltrox Extension Tube 24mm + Nikon Z 28-400 lens, could/would work?? I know it would fit, but would it work??

BF Hammer 2026: Me and my Zf

I'm just trying to find out, if I would be able to use the Viltrox X2 teleconverter with my Z 28-400 lens. Like you said, unless someone has already tried the combo, it would be hard to know... Viltrox does mention only 3 lenses: 70-200, 100-400 and the 400... It could be a physical restriction...

BF Hammer 2026: Me and my Zf

Sorry to hear about your brother.. When I look at the Nikon teleconverter it does offer a list of the lenses it is compatible with. I was just wondering if, for instance, the Viltrox or other brands, could be used with other Nikon lenses, or it is an actual physical limitation due to the design...

    Slide to Digital Images

Ok this is the result taken with the Nikon Z7II with Z MC50 lens and JJC negative adapter... I just realised now that my daughter has all the slides, and with me, I only have a huge box of negatives.. This particular negative was taken back in 1990, so 36 years ago... I have no idea of either...

    Slide to Digital Images

As promised here it is my review of the 35mm Film Digitizing Adapter+LED Light Set Negative Scanner Holder as Nikon ES-2 purchased on Ebay.. The first thing that I notice was that it took only 6 days free delivery from China... Now considering the world situation, that's impressive... The box...

    FX - DX confusion

I just tried and yes, the Option Chose Image area is not available... That means Nikon only allows to use DX image area when the FX lens is used, that behaves just like a digital zoom...

A week in with my new Zf

Thanks BF for that... You just took me out of buying another camera, as I don't really need it and yes the weight it is always a concern.. I will definitely wait to see if the Z7III appears on the market while enjoying the Z7II...
