Nice photos! For some reason whenever I take a photo of words from a book they never turn out. And I probably won't get a chance to try again until after Christmas. Anyway, I am always amazed when I see words from a book that are readable in a photograph.
This is not my photo, but is one, somehow, did not win top place in the 2024 Audubon photo contest. It did make the top 100. Photographer is Phil Seu. Talk about being in the right place at the right time. The osprey did manage to escape.
I went to Madison, IN last week and took this shot of the River City Printing's hydroplane that will be racing in next year's Madison Regatta. I guess I should have waited to go until this week so I could enter it in the Travel contest.
I just got a new, to me, Nikon D850 and here are a few of my first pictures. I am pleased so far. I didn't expect it to handle the ISO better than my D500. These are taken in bad lighting conditions and it did pretty good.
You are right. For whatever reason my download of warblers in the Merlin app doesn't include the Townsend Warbler and I guess it picked it up as a Yellow Rumped Warbler which there are plenty of those in the area right now. That is good to know because that is also the first one of those I...
