Did a quick on and off test yesterday,not the sort of subject that proves any thing but i did notice something about the images,both taken within the time it takes to switch VR off so both carry the same exposure details,matrix metering and no PP apart from the standard 25% sharpening ACR...

Curlew

I was pleased stumpy is still ok hadn't seen him for a week.

Mind you the Curlew did show up again.

Been out today,the sun never broke through and it was mainly the regulars to practice on.

A couple of examples of why ime having such a hard time staying mad with this lens:D Both 100% crops hand held,i have seen better but for me they are an achievement

Another thread going up the spout,its getting tiresome @Eyelight can i suggest you start it again.

At the moment we have nothing but cloud cover forecast all week but when it improves i will do the same shot with and with out,the only thing i have at the moment is an example of VR on at 1000th of a second.

Just had a play with one of your images,my thoughts are if the exposure had been correct you would have had a very nice image.
