Dont want to throw a spanner in the works but the distances you are talking about need shortening, good bird images are taken most of the time over short distances There is a lot of crap in the atmosphere and the more air between you and your subject means more condensed air pollutants to soften...

Just read a post on a bird watching forum, a chap had updated the firmware on his 150-600 and it had stopped working with the latest Canon converter. He contacted Sigma who looked into it and confirmed it was the latest firmware that had done it,then the normal statement that they could not...

@Friggs If your losing the Exif on transfer from flickr it could be the size you are transferring and the forum is stripping it when it downsizes, i uploaded this one at 1500 on the long side, will upload it at 1500 and 1024 to see if it keeps its Exif on both 1500 P1090158 by electric.mike...
