    Post your Trails & Paths

I think these are in my 365 thread. All are of a canal with a walking path taken from 3 different locations.

    Back-Button Focus

@Dave_W was the first person I saw who mentioned it a couple of years ago although he didn't call it back button focus.

Post the last picture you took on your camera.

This was from the latest theater production. Their play was based on a true story about the lives of several women during the Vietnam War. They invited Veterans, and afterwards this Vet spoke with them. He authored a book which tells about several alums who lost their lives during the war.

    Nikon or Mack Warranty?

With today's price drop on the D750, at some point I will buy one. In the past I've only bought the Nikon extended warranty. Which type of extended warranty do most people here buy? And why? Nikon vs. Mack.

    Tripod Head vs. Camera/Lens Weight

I am looking to buy a new tripod head (just bought a new Gitzo aluminum tripod last week). Manfrotto makes a couple I'm interested in, and one is perfect for my needs--except it has a maximum load of 8.8 pounds. I need a pan/tilt head because of forearm tendonitis, and this head is super easy to...

    Flickr Exif Data Question

You want to make sure you select the BBCode and the Original Size. If you choose any other size, the EXIF will be stripped.

    Post your latest purchases.

I've been looking at specs for a new tripod, but it's hard to make a decision based solely on specs. So today I went to my local camera store to see features I do and don't like. Since they didn't have a head like I wanted, I came home and did a little more research then narrowed down my choices...

To Filter.... or Not To Filter. That is the question.

Michael, sorry I've been away from the forum for a few weeks. Here is a chart I found online which comes from this web site: Choosing the best ND filter: remember these 4 tips (and save this cheat sheet!) | Digital Camera World Look at the very left-hand column under where it says, FILTER...

    Flash Brackets

I still use a Stroboframe bracket from my 35mm days when using off-camera flash. It positions the flash above the camera which creates shadows under the chin--certainly not desirable so I'm considering getting a new flash bracket. There are times when I can't bounce the flash because either the...

Dumb Jokes Posted Here.... if you dare.

This showed up in my Facebook news feed. Since we have been hovering around 0° during the nights, it might be applicable even for this area. :)

    Contributing member renewals

@jdeg my Paypal account worked differently than your directions. I had to click the 'wheel' near the upper right as there wasn't a Profile tab. Once on that page, look under Payment Settings and click on Preapproved payments. Mine is listed as Sugarman Studios LLC not Nikonites.

    Lawsuit over photo contests

Has anyone heard about a lawsuit where a photographer is being sued for running online photo contests? It sounds like a company patented photo contests, and that company is now going after other people who run them. @jdeg this is happening around our area. :( Why one photographer decided to...

    Hark's 2015 and 2016

I posted this earlier this afternoon but needed to lighten it slightly. This shot of the canal is from a completely different vantage point about 1/2 mile away from the first. A little history on the canal: it is man made and covers 60 miles. It runs parallel to the Delaware River and was...

HOYA 4-stop ND filter one day sale

B&H has a 77mm 4-stop ND filter as it's Deal of the Day today for $44.95. It is a slim profile which is better for wide angle shots (less vignetting). Looks like 50% are already claimed and most likely will sell out early. Hoya 77mm Pro 1D 16x (4-stop) Neutral Density Filter XD77ND16

I want to buy serial number for Photoshop Elements 7/8/9 please

I'm going to ask again...if a product hasn't been officially registered, can the serial number be transferred? Below are the items I used to use that are registered. PSE 4 and PSE 6 are registered even though I no longer use them, but PSE 9 and PSE 10 were never registered (I still have PSE 10...

    Automatic sharpening in Photoshop?

While watching one of the free videos on Lynda.com, she is talks about working in Bridge before sending a file to Photoshop. In this video, when discussing output sharpening, she says not to add any sharpening in Bridge if the file is going to Photoshop because PS automatically sharpens the...
