    Strange, Rude Lady Yesterday

I was at the Magnolia Audubon Swamp Garden yesterday, shooting some herons. A couple of trams full of school kids came down the trail. I had to move off the trail to let them by. The kids were excited, but mostly well behaved. One of the teachers apologized for disturbing my shoot. I told her it...

    Post Your Birds (3)

After letting these pictures settle for a little while, I thought I'd try a different orientation on the great egret picture. I think I like it better. The "gator ramp" he is standing on gives some interest, as well as minimizing the dead background.

Google set to delete inactive accounts

So let me get this straight, the NYT is telling you that you must give them your email to read an article that says having a news subscription linked to your gmail acct will keep that account open, otherwise your Google email acct will be deleted. Sounds pfishy.

    My Cat, Buddy…

I would take issue with one of your statements. "he suddenly decided that he's my wife's and my cat" Cats do not have owners. They have staff! ;)

Unable to connect my Nikon D3500 with my laptop

I'm with Fred on this one, unless you just want a newer camera. I have a D3400, and have never had any trouble connecting to my PC. It sounds like some kind of issue with the camera itself, as it should be seamless after installing the drivers. I have downloaded photos from the memory card via...

    House Finch Mating Ritual

Saw something similar with laughing gulls. Not sure if an impressive comedy routine was part of the ritual. "Are you a parking ticket? Cause you've got FINE written all over you!" Karaoke! Hey, I wasn't that bad! Wait! I do a great Elvis impersonation. I've got seafood........

    Z 8 Mini Z 9 or Comparable D850 - Changes Coming

It would be a lot cheaper for me to purchase a crop sensor camera in the range of the D500 than an 800mm lens of decent resolution and speed. Not to mention upgraded sensor resolution and autofocus capability, and fps. Since I have gravitated to wildlife photography, those things are more...

Marilynne, looks you might want to check the chlorine levels in your pool. Water is looking a little green.

I believe you will find that the more you get out and do things, the more you will want to get out and do things. I'm finding that out now that my wife is doing well enough to leave her on her own for several hours or more. I have been looking with interest at the Z8. I would love to have one...

    here's something thats bugging me

That happens to me a lot on my Z5. I don't know of anyway to lock into the center or other positions. You probably already know, but you can easily bring it back to center by pressing the OK button.

Adaptor for Rodenstock Scitex S-3 67 mm F4.9

I think you will be happier with the modern macro lens. It will be easier to use, likely better quality images, and you may find other uses for the camera/lens combo than taking pictures of tubes.

From a black & white project: Vintage vacuum tubes from General Electric (50's production)

If I still have any, they are going to be difficult to find. I still have a few boxes of "stuff" from his shop that I brought home and stored in the 80s. If I still have any, they are likely to be garden variety, common types mainly from TVs. I remember when I was young the local convenience...
