From a fire a few days ago in Sunshine Canyon, very close to Boulder, Colorado.

Fire in Sunshine Canyon very near Boulder, CO. Gutsy flying. 200 feet or lower, through thick smoke and right next to a ridge.

This was the first butterfly I saw this year, taken a week and a half ago.

If I went on private property with a 20 foot ladder I could get better pictures. :)

I thought I'd post this shot at 12800 ISO to help people with deciding if the D500 can handle high ISO to their satisfaction. It is cropped a tiny bit, no noise reduction or sharpening, and no exposure adjustment. Sized to 1000 pixels on the long end.
